About this roll* (Responsibilities)
Supply Chain Management
Maintain an external awareness of industry and related purchasing trends, global material shortages, transportation delays, etc. that may impact the supply chain
Create RFQs and distribute to multiple suppliers for competitive bids
Evaluate and review contracts for new suppliers
Establish and regularly review supplier performance metrics
Establish and document a repeatable set of SOP's for the buyer/planners
Develop and facilitate implementation of world-class supply chain operations practices and procedures within the business, supporting the roll-out of these improvements globally.
Serve as primary escalation point for order fulfillment issues related to inventory shortages by providing coordination for resolution, including investigation and diagnosis
Planning/Forecasting
Manage inventory levels, identify exceptions and evaluate resolutions for variances (supply gaps)
Reviews purchase recommendations related to forecasted inventory and initiates appropriate quantities for Purchase Order placement
Identifies products oversold to forecasts and develops contingency plans
Provides updated supplier forecasts monthly
Analysis and Reporting
Reviews exceptions and organizes data to review with Management
Prepares data and material for monthly supply review meetings
Communication
Participate / contribute to planning meetings with Logistics
Participate / contribute to planning meetings with Fulfillment / Production Operations
Escalates exceptions identified that may result in supply shortages or gaps
Qualifications and Attributes:
7 years managing Supply Chain Operations & Buying / Planning
Extensive data analysis skills
Experience in NetSuite (ERP) is a plus
Strong analytical skills
Consistently performs to a high level of accuracy in all tasks, high level of attention to detail
Extensive knowledge and understanding of inventory management and capacity planning
Comfortable and effective working cross-functionally at all levels and in a team environment
Adept at handling detailed daily tasks while also applying continuous improvement initiatives
