Central Lead for managing all supplier issues across all GLBs. Responsible for coordinated tracking, reporting, management, escalation of (supplier/ADUSA), and communication of all issues. Will be also be responsible for the development and management of central communication process of supplier issues to all GLB partners and all Peapod partners. This includes accountability to move the supplier support group (formerly vendor management) to a common approach of business management (which will include systems, processes and standards).

This position will work closely with the other Private Brand center departments (Category Development, Sourcing, Quality Integrity, Innovation, Execution, and Analytics) to ensure proper hand offs are being made to meet deadlines. This will require the development of a tracking tool that will hold all parties accountable for hitting set deadlines, escalating to leadership when deadlines are missed. They will also be the primary lead for working with the logistics team to streamline processes, standardize and define swim lanes, and work to minimize product out of stocks.

 

Recipe for Success - What's “in store” for the role  

Private Brand Forecasting

  • Escalation point of contact for respective GLB for PB Suppliers on issues and concerns for future turn forecasting.
  • Provide direction and strategy for new PB Items initial and future turn forecast.
  • Provide direction and training to PB Supplier Service Specialists on adhoc forecasting as needed for PB Suppliers.
  • Point of contact for respective GLB for resolving issues or concerns related to preliminary forecasting and availability of adequate raw material and production lead times.
  • Provides oversight of the final four-week ad forecast and communication to PB Suppliers to ensure product is in stock when advertised.
  • Escalation point of contact for respective GLB to address reporting concerns from PB Suppliers for warehouse and store sales historical data.


Private Brand Transitions (Supplier, Brand and New Item)

  • Provides training, direction and oversight of transition plan in support of flawless execution from approved to print stage to on shelf.
  • Resolves issues related to managing down the existing supplier’s inventory in preparation for transitions and new inventory while managing cost impact.
  • Owns conflict resolution with PB suppliers, replenishment, categories, and other business partners on their responsibilities for transition tasks.
  • Trains PB Supplier Services Specialists on the completion and validation of New Item Paperwork to ensure items are appropriately set-up in all applicable systems.


Private Brand Supplier Coordination and Communication

  • Develops, oversees, and provides direction on a plan of action to mitigate the negative impact at retail for out of stocks. Communicates and escalates to the Category Development, PB Leadership and other key Category Manager and Sourcing business partners.
  • Ensures the PB Supplier(s) have a sufficient plan for out of stock resolution for respective GLB and holds them accountable for resolution/execution.
  • Escalation point of contact for respective GLB for PB Suppliers and business partners to identify and solve cost discrepancies outside of contract cost to prevent out of stock situations and invoice discrepancies.
  • Provides oversight, training and direction to the PB Supplier Services Specialists to address logistical issues and opportunities.
  • Provides training and oversight to the PB Supplier Services Specialists on Item and Vendor Maintenance Paperwork to ensure items are accurately updated in all applicable systems.
  • Provides oversight and training to the PB Supplier Services Specialists on final buyout quantities, pend and deletion process for PB deleted items.
  • Evaluates impact on other related PB items when deletions occur and communicates to PB suppliers including demand/volume shifts to remaining items.
  • Owns execution of adding new PB items to respective GLB that already exist within the PDL PB portfolio.
  • Provides insights to the PB Leadership and Sourcing on deletions to be evaluated on total PDL impacts.
  • Evaluates impact to local GLB and provides insights to the PB Leadership and Sourcing in the event of a supplier closure or exit of PB categories/items.
  • For Food Lion and Hannaford only, is escalation point for issue resolution related to deduction disputes, provides training and oversight to the PB Supplier Services Specialists of all updates and changes for PB cost and deals prior to approval by business partners.

  • Responsible for the development, talent planning, career guidance, performance management and training of PB Supplier Services Specialists

  • 5 + years of related business experience in Forecasting, Supply Chain, Private Brands and/or Broker/Supplier
