Job Summary

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced senior level network engineer to contribute to infrastructure and network projects and work with the hosting division to integrate speech recognition solutions across the new Automotive Company.
Daily responsibilities include interacting with Engineers, R&D, Operations, Information Security and Project teams build and deliver new network services and infrastructure and also ensure the  operational availability of corporate network services. 
Candidates must be well versed in routing, switching, load balancing and firewall technologies acquired through 7+ years combined experience in distributed network environments. Hands-on technical experience in Cisco networking technologies along with excellent communications skills, are required to succeed in this fast paced and challenging role.

Responsibilities:

  • Build complex, highly-available global network environments that deliver networking services to a 2000 person company with 22 sites and data centers.
  • Design and implement network infrastructure solutions that satisfy customer requirements, cost-efficiency objectives and security standards. 
  • Contribute to technical, design review and security discussions to implement solutions that adhere to change control process, best practice standards and internal policies and procedures.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd tier support as required for deployed systems on an ad hoc and on call basis.
  • Work with Infrastructure, Platform, Support, Datacenter, Database and Security teams to review and maintain documentation of network systems in the public and private cloud.

Qualifications:
Number of Years of Work Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in progressive technical roles including:
4+ years network engineering and administration in distributed environments
1-2 years of experience integrating distributed networking infrastructure with public cloud providers (Azure, AWS)

Required Skills:

  • Able to administer and operate large scale network infrastructures to support  operations for internal customers.
  • Extensive working knowledge of network technologies including recent experience with Cisco, Linux and f5, plus Azure or AWS.
  • Able to configure LAN and WAN network protocols with a solid understanding both concepts and syntax.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices and controls related to network infrastructure.   
  • Excellent problem solving, collaboration interpersonal and communication skills are critical to success in this position.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions using the cisco platform.  Experience with F5 or other loadbalancing solutions.
  • Experience or working knowledge of SD-WAN technologies (Viptela)
  • Experience with Palo Alto and Arista products
  • Knowledge and understanding of ITIL or a similar IT Service Management framework

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent (Preferred)

 Extensive experience with relevant industry certifications is a definite plus
