R&D Technician Manager

As we continue to develop new technology that pushes the envelope of what is possible with 3D printers, we are looking for a self motivated individual that can help lead a team of highly capable technicians to help us build the impossible. You’ll work directly with our engineering team to invent, develop, and advance our core hardware line of products. The work will span across all engineering disciplines with projects encompassing a wide variety of programs.

The Job:
- Work on a collaborative team of technicians to undertake tasks across engineering teams to help rapidly iterate and advance programs
- Work with all programs leads to understand the top priorities and schedule requirements and help make programs run efficiently
- Be an effective people manager who provides technical guidance, evaluation, mentorship and facilitates career growth for team members
- Hire new talent to match resources to the workloads of a growing company.
- Interface with other functional leaders for product development
- Triage incoming Build Team tasks and assign to appropriate member(s) of the team
- Assists direct reports with technical guidance
- Manage and guide our Machine Shop and Machine Shop Team
- Manage and guide our internal refurbishment team
- Manage and guide our RMA training team
You:
- Experience managing a technical team of individuals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management skills
- An effective people manager who provides technical guidance, evaluation, mentorship and facilitates career growth
- Have a wide background of hands-on skills ranging from fabricating experience, electrical experience, and prototype assembly
- Experience in developing prototypes and making things from 'napkin sketches
- Motivated and driven to promote excellence in work
- Triage incoming Build Team tasks and assign to appropriate member(s) of the team
- Familiar with mechanical design, mechatronics, and CAD modeling
