The Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading the daily operations of procurement and supply chain management for BitSight Technologies, Inc. together with its wholly owned subsidiaries (“BitSight”).  This position will coordinate and manage the end-to-end procurement process from RFP to purchase, including vendor selection, management, and rationalization, collaborate with the finance, information security, and legal departments to vet vendors for compliance and security purposes, negotiate advantageous business terms with vendors, log and track the vendor agreements of the company, monitor the ongoing performance of vendors, and identify viable back-up vendors to avoid any potential operational disruption.  This is the first procurement position at BitSight and the ideal candidate will be comfortable standing up a new procurement program and have a growth mindset.

Key Job Functions:

  • Run competitive RFPs and make quality purchases of supplies and services; manage the ongoing evaluation, selection and management of vendors and vendor relationships for the company. 
  • Coordinate vetting of new vendors for sanctions compliance and other compliance issues; coordinate with information security and legal to manage overall onboarding process for new vendors; act as gatekeeper for the vendor engagement process.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts to achieve the best business terms possible, including price, delivery date, license scope, term of use, etc. Enable cost-efficient and timely purchasing processes.
  • Work with AP as needed to issue correct vendor payments.
  • Engagement with key supplier representatives including participation in quarterly business reviews. Identify and implement cost-saving measures and continuous improvement of key business processes.
  • Vendor rationalization - validate that company’s vendors in different categories make sense and concentrate business with certain vendors to realize economies of scale and scope. Implement champion-challenger arrangements for key supply chain needs.
  • Evaluate implementing a new vendor management platform to log and track agreements or leverage existing workflow tools. Maintain vendor records in accordance with company policies and procedures and in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitor ongoing vendor performance through selective checks of whether SLA’s are met and taking business customer feedback; escalate noncompliance to executives and legal department as necessary.
  • Assist with due diligence exercises (inbound or outbound) relating to vendors.
  • Manage and evaluate existing relationships with Vendor.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university required; degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or related field preferred
  • 10 years of experience in procurement function
  • 3 years of direct people management experience preferred
  • SaaS / Hi Tech industry experience strongly preferred 
  • Work history showing progressive responsibility (self-starter), willingness to accept additional projects or challenges, demonstrates initiative 
  • Broad knowledge of trends for supply chain management, finance, accounting, and vendor contracting
  • Demonstrated leadership and supply management skills including negotiating, influencing, driving for positive resolution 
  • Business acumen; excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to review and understand vendor contracts
  • Ability to work well independently with a strong sense of urgency and bias for positive action 
  • Build and maintain strong, cross-functional relationships with internal business partners
  • Familiarity with Vendor, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and enterprise procurement management tools (VenMinder, etc.)
  • Strong reliability, honesty, and integrity, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
