Job Summary

Position Summary:

The HC Division is looking to hire a Principal Business Continuity Specialist who will contribute to the activities of the HC Division Continuity Office across our healthcare international organization. This BC Specialist provides guidance to the healthcare division related to best practices in the US and global Business Continuity management plans and procedures, conducts annual tests against the procedures and plans, and refines such plans.

 

Principal duties and responsibilities:

•Establish and maintain the overall plans for executing all BC procedures and understand their interdependencies.
•Establish and maintain detailed BC communications and command and control plans through a change management process.
•Work with the IT technical staff to ensure that Business Continuity solutions are adequate, in place, maintained, and tested as part of the regular operational life cycle.
•Develop and understand all testing necessary for a successful BC execution.
•Schedule and lead all BC exercises.
•Provide ongoing feedback for risk management, mitigation, and prevention.
•Represent Business Continuity cost requirements in the annual budgeting process.
•Regularly report Business Continuity activities to upper management.
•Help ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances
•Update the HC Division Business Impact Assessment (BIA).

•Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing.

 

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.

 

Minimum years of work experience: 8 years

 

Required skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, information protection (information security), or a related IT field is required.
  • Must have 4+ years of experience dedicated to Business Continuity operations and management in the Financial, Healthcare or other similar industry.
  • Need experience managing large projects, using PMI standard methods and tools.
  • Understanding of current recovery solutions, high availability architectures is needed, as is knowledge of crisis communication solutions.
  • Must know elementary IT network principles.
  • Require excellent oral and written communication skills to convey plans, exercises, and activities using Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to interact with technical, non-technical, and management staff.
  • Familiarity with business continuity program life cycle plans and source deliverables (e.g., risk assessments, bias, continuity planning) is essential.

Preferred skills:

  • Certification in CBCP or CFCP is preferred
  • PMP certification is desired.
  • TOGAF Certification preferred
  • ITIL V3 certification - Plus
