Merchandising sits at the center of art and science, at the intersection of content marketing, visual storytelling and e-commerce. In this role, you will oversee all merchandising initiatives, editorial and promotion calendars, program management, quarterly KPIs and outcomes for our Experiences business line. You will work closely with Product Management and Marketing leaders across the company to identify and prioritize site enhancements, new functionalities, inventory, and merchandising priorities; and be the single-threaded leader for content strategy and storytelling in Experiences. You love to take on challenges that bridge creative and analytical. You’re a passionate advocate for the customer. You’re growth oriented, with a never stop testing and iterating mindset. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Market and customer intelligence
    • Leverage market trends, customer and journey insights to understand how the customer shops [Experiences], identify problems and opportunities and outline solutions 
    • Serve as the subject matter expert on visual merchandising and industry trends for the experiences and entertainment category; be a leader in identifying relevant market trends and partner with your category team to make these come to life for Tripadvisor customers
  • E-commerce merchandising and marketing
    • Build business cases behind proposed solutions, seasonal collections and curations, new launches
    • Continuously improve merchandising experiences by creating data-driven product recommendations, implementing cross-functional processes, managing test and iterate roadmaps, and presenting a cohesive storytelling perspective across all core channels
    • Develop, calendarize, and execute to site plans that include product curation, asset updates, navigation changes, seasonal updates, promotional events, and co-marketing opportunities
    • Leverage analytics and A/B testing tools to report on merchandising results and support revenue and conversion optimization goals
    • Develop scalable process and tools for curated campaigns
    • Partner with Product to build AI-enabled curation applications
    • Oversee rigorous creative testing and asset optimization to maximize media spend, especially for social and CRM channels
  • Planning and Project management
    • Partner closely with Marketing to develop and execute 360 marketing campaigns focused on seasonal category curation and promotions, especially leaning into channels like CRM and social
    • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Creative and Marketing to identify and execute strategic planning and production of all site assets for your category
    • Be responsible for effective communication about the state of your category throughout the business: to executive leadership down through the broader organization.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in retail merchandising, marketing or revenue operations; preference is demonstrated success in ecommerce businesses
  • Able to navigate and simplify ambiguity 
  • Able to invent and innovate
  • Strong presentation skills; high bar for visual design
  • Strong business acumen 
  • Customer enthusiast and translator
  • Experience working with UX, design and PM
  • Passion for travel stories
  • BA/BS degree
