The Role
As the Medical Science Liaison, you will serve as a field-based scientific and clinical expert for Akili’s growing suite of digital therapeutics products, including our flagship FDA-approved product, EndeavorRx. In this role, you will deliver clinical and economic information regarding Akili’s products, and develop relationships with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and payers. You will also contribute to the design and execution of Akili’s medical affairs strategy using the insights gathered from managed care organizations, patient advocacy groups, and opinion leaders. This position will report to the Senior Director of Medical Affairs Operations.


Responsibilities

  • Manage individual territory responsibilities and act as a trusted scientific advisor to sales and market access colleagues
  • Educate healthcare providers, payers, key decision makers (P&T members, opinion leaders, pharmacists), and agents (specialty pharmacy, GPO, and PBMs) on PDTs and the clinical value proposition of approved products
  • Establish, and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), patient advocacy groups, and other subject matter experts regarding disease-state and product-specific information across product portfolio
  • Stay informed of medical and scientific developments in pediatric ADHD and PDT spaces by continuously reviewing literature in the field, monitoring competitor activities, networking with experts and attending relevant conferences
  • Capture and analyze customer insights data to inform medical strategy and lifecycle management
  • Planning and support of medical affairs initiatives and booths at scientific congresses
  • Serve as a liaison for investigator-initiated trials (ISTs) and collaborative research
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners on internal projects and external initiatives

Qualifications

  • ​​Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP, or NP) with specialty training or experience in Psychiatry or Neurology preferred
  • 2+ years’ Medical Science Liaison or Medical Affairs experience in pharmaceutical industry preferred​​()
  • 2+ years’ experience related to managed care (including PBM, VA/DoD, CMS/State Medicaid), healthcare consulting, will be considered in lieu of pharmaceutical industry experiencePrior experience with pediatric ADHD and/or Prescription Digital Therapeutics (PDTs) is helpful, but not required
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate scientific data to internal and external customers with varying degrees of clinical comprehension
  • Authentically cultivates and nurtures strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including key opinion leaders (KOLs) and managed care organizations.
  • Driven team-player with a passion for making a meaningful difference in patient care
  • This position will require approximately 50% travel (subject to COVID19 travel restrictions) and proximity to an airport providing efficient and economical travel
