Accelerating growth in digital and personalization capabilities, PDL is an innovation lab focused on meeting the changing needs of customers, regardless of when, where, and how consumers choose to shop.  

Peapod continues to be a consumer-facing eCommerce brand, and is part of Peapod Digital Labs, focused on growing Peapod sales to consumers.

The US Strategy Team is growing to better support our great local brands and leadership team tackle the organization's highest-priority strategic initiatives, identify continued near and long-term growth opportunities, and help shape the corporate agenda, working closely with the ADUSA CEO and US Leadership Team. Projects range from strategy development for emerging growth opportunities to long-term strategic planning. 


This position will report to the Senior Manager, US Strategy Special Projects with significant exposure to our various leaders across our Brands (Stop & Shop, Giant Martin, Giant Foods, Food Lion, Hannaford and Peapod) and Functional Leadership teams (E-commerce, Supply chain, Merchandising etc)

Recipe for Success - What's "in store" for the role

  • Work with key stakeholders (often the US Leadership Team) to independently lead cross-functional teams on high-value initiatives and strategies, creating business cases, financial models, and key analytics in support of critical work
  • Assist the Strategy Lead and Head of Strategy in developing growth and deployment strategies for various parts of our business (e.g., new markets, B&M, eComm), collaborating with Officers across the organization
  • Create end-to-end presentations and materials to help drive work forward and gain alignment on critical issues which often will require the art of storytelling within presentations
  • Drive annual strategic planning and integrated business planning process by executing and coordinating analysis and research
  • Support MGR III, Special Projects in building team stand-up and training materials for the Special Projects, US Strategy, and broader teams


The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of business experience with at least 1.5 + of those at a top-tier consulting firm


Extra Spices - What you should bring to the table

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or demonstrable equivalent preferred
  • Experience in a customer-facing business environments
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Highly proficient in analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Alteryx 
  • Comfort in translating analystics into effective Powerpoint presentations
  • Understanding of Retail value drivers
  • Influencing leadership at the strategic and executive level
  • Conceptual thinker and problem solver
  • Process-oriented
  • Highly effective communicator – especially when it comes to executive story lining and communications
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and project-based work, able to adapt and bring focus and structure to unique, high-value problems 
  • Creative, structured, and objective problem solver - both conceptually and analytically – with strong critical reasoning skills
  • Proven ability to drive organization change based on analysis and recommendations
  • Ability to quickly analyze data, draw and present conclusions with actionable steps and measure final outcome
  • Ability to lead without authority
  • Ability to work within tight timelines, deadlines and on multiple projects
  • Works well independently in ambiguous situations and with minimal supervision when required
