Ensuring the integrity and quality of Tripadvisor’s location data is priority number one for our Places Team. We manage the backbone of Tripadvisor’s travel content which include our ever-growing database of accommodations, attractions, restaurants and geographic locations. Leveraging user generated content, partner submissions and other data points - the Places Team continues to seek new and improved methods to manage and enhance our global locations dataset. Tripadvisor is seeking a strong and innovative project manager with a proven leadership track record to join the Places team.   This role requires a proactive candidate who will be able to work in a fast paced, team-oriented and entrepreneurial environment.

What you will do

• Develop a deep understanding of the Places team’s workflows and processes and actively participate in the creation of its operational goals

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, to identify and deliver scalable solutions that will ensure the data integrity of our POI content

• Leverage data to suggest and prioritize projects and product ideas focused on enhancing automation without risking quality

• Manage projects from conception through completion, providing status reports and overall business impact of project

• Gather, document and organize project requirements across various stakeholders

• Think creatively and critically to drive changes to business tools and workflows, implement projects and product ideas, and operationalize best practices with a focus on mitigating risk, enhancing quality and efficiency, and meeting changing objectives

• Investigate root causes of bugs and quality issues to identify long term solutions

• Design testing protocols to evaluate hypotheses

• Collaborate with management on prioritization of projects weighing the overall impact and risk to the business

• Define and report on quantifiable success metrics of projects

• Build persuasive business cases as needed for the team’s evolving priorities, using data-derived insights and strong, clear communication skills

• Prepare and deliver high level presentations for internal stakeholders with a focus on objectives and overall team progress

• Adapt project plans as needed to rapidly changing business needs and fast-paced workplace culture

What you will bring to the team

• 5+ years relevant professional experience

• University degree or equivalent experience required

• Success driving projects and measuring impact at both the individual and team level

• Advanced experience using JIRA and Confluence to manage and document projects.

• High level knowledge of relational databases and advanced SQL skills.

• Sound judgement with a talent for resolving complex problems and making decisions based on potential impact to the business

• Analytical thinker and structured problem solver

• Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex problems into easily digestible pieces.

• Talent for identifying and establishing key objectives and using KPIs to manage and improve performance

• Experience as a leader who can prioritize effectively, communicate clearly, and influence cross-functional teams

• Strong attention to detail with excellent time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills

• Ability to navigate an organization and build consensus across multiple levels and partners

• Advanced Excel/Google sheets skills

• Experience with Tableau a plus
