The role of Junior Hedging Specialist will minimize Indigo’s risk in commodity markets and delight customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure alignment of GCS metrics around customer satisfaction
  • Support the design and implementation of Portfolio Management and Grower Pricing order management systems
  • Meet with Account Managers and key members of Food and Fiber Team to align needs
  • Learn all grain marketing portions of current offers
  • Minimize fill times for grower orders
  • Understand and embody Indigo’s mission and core values

 

Competencies:

  • Strong phone communication with diverse audiences (farmers, internal teams, etc.)
  • Comfortable working with all market participants (including growers, buyers, and internal stakeholders)
  • Strong sense of integrity; able to find balance between questioning authority and adhering to policy
  • Technologically literate
  • Data driven; propensity to use data to inform decisions
  • Takes clear ownership for mistakes
  • Able to maintain composure and stay calm during busy times
  • Detail oriented


Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with grain and/or futures markets strongly preferred
  • Personal or professional experience with agriculture a plus
  • Experience with at least one code/query language preferred
  • Grain desk and/or grain pricing experience preferred but not required
  • Familiar with cash grain marketing terms
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese preferred

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
