Investment Operations Director

The Team
The MML Investors Services, LLC New Business Team is comprised of highly skilled, financial services professionals who render collaborative compliance solutions to our Financial Advisors. Team members demonstrate high levels of competence in the areas of resilience, accountability, agility, and are focused on continuous improvement and development. The team culture is collaborative, cross-functional, and fosters high performance results with an emphasis on encouraging a healthy work/life balance. We seek to provide best-in-class service to sophisticated Advisors as they provide their clients with a holistic suite of wealth management products and solutions.
Daily and monthly responsibilities - What your days and weeks will include.
Manage employees performing investment-related operational, transactional, service and/or review functions in support of ongoing business operations.
Coach, motivate and develop employees
Work with Senior Management to ensure the accomplishments of departmental goals
Participate in developing unit objectives to align with overall business direction. Manage resources at the local level (a team/unit within a department or a small department).
Oversee daily operation of department.
Manage staff in the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures and programs.
Ensure adherence to company policy and governmental regulations.
Assist in managing departmental structure, employee development, training and planning.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, internal supervisory controls and Corporate RIA program procedures.
Drive continuous process improvements and increase operations efficiency. Develop team to do the same.
Review requests for exceptions to policies and procedures and decides appropriate action.
Appropriately allocate resources in order to achieve desired results.
Maintain and improve relationships with all business partners.
Develop/Update policies and procedures as they arise.
Deliver the highest level of service to our field force.
Review reports that measure staff productivity and department efficiency.
Required skills and qualifications.
Series 7 & 24 required at time of application
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the broker dealer space
Strong analytical skills/Problem solving
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Organization navigation skills
SME in multiple functions and proficient in most functions
A catalyst for collaboration across groups
Proven skill in working with all levels of a corporate hierarchy
Ideal skills and qualifications.
3+ years of management experience
