Description

The Senior Application Architect designs and develops IT applications architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Senior Application Architect work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Senior Application Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to highly complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
• 7 or more experience as a senior developer in large IT projects
• Prior project architect and/or team lead experience
• Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle, Waterfall, and Agile Development Methodologies
• Experience problem solving and consultation within complex environments
• Facilitating cross-functional teams' efforts
• 2+ years working experience with tools – Blueworks Live, IBM Business Process Designer, Integration Designer, MQ Explorer/RFH UTil , SOAP UI, Database Management tools
• 2+ years experience working experience with Server runtime (WebSphere/ tomcat), deploying applications and troubleshooting for failures as needed
• Knowledge and expertise in IBM BPM use cases
• Should be able to complete code reviews and guide the development team in development activities
• Experience with onsite/offshore development model is required
• Experience working with business teams in gathering requirements and translating them to detailed design.  Responsible for overall delivery of the solutions
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• 4+ years working experience with tools – BlueWorksLive, Process Designer , Integration Designer , MQ Explorer/RFH UTil , SOAP UI , Database Management tools
• 4+ years experience working experience with Server runtime (WebSphere/ tomcat), deploying applications and troubleshooting for failures as needed
