About the role

We’re growing and have created a new global role to develop and lead our end to end approach to proposal management. It’s a wide remit from working with the global sales and product teams generating new business, to defining how we submit quality and compelling RFP/tender responses on time.  Working globally and with our market segments (Institutions, Corporate, Funder & Government, Publishers), plus our different Portfolio businesses across all our geographies it’s a pivotal role that will lead and implement change to increase our revenue and improve our operational efficiency.

Role Responsibilities:

• Identify and coordinate the assessment of new business opportunities worldwide (RFIs, RFPs, Tenders, etc.)

• Work with our global sales team to identify new business opportunities.

• Project manage the process from receipt of the request through to submission and provide first line (non-sales) review of RFP documentation.

• Coordinate all internal resources in support of responses eg Product Management, Technical Sales, Sales Operations, Contracts, etc.

• Central point of contact for bids from all sales territories and the Government sector.

• Collaborate with the Portfolio businesses and sales to build financial models for all proposals.

• Oversee all aspects of proposal preparation - from coordination to edition - and develop new content as we create new products and/or features.

• Develop sustainable processes and content to ensure we can scale efficiently and effectively and make the best use of our resources eg build proposal handbooks, knowledge bases with boilerplate content.

Key Experience:

You will be a key member of our new Global Business Operations team and work directly with the SVP for Global Business Operations.  We are growing quickly and it’s a fast paced environment so you will need to thrive working to tight deadlines across several different time zones. We are looking for people with;

• Significant experience managing the proposal preparation process, including the ability to understand and analyze the details of an RFP/tender. Ideally this will be in the academic and/or government space for SaaS.

• Ability to coordinate and edit proposal input from a variety of different resources.

• Excellent process, time and project management skills and experience of process redesign.

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal English language skills.

• Leadership experience with confidence in dealing with all levels of management and experience of working with sales teams across different segments / markets / geographies.

• Extensive previous exposure to contracts and an understanding of basic contract language is a plus
