Description
Our Scientific Affairs team is seeking an External Partnerships Manager to lead our scientific engagement efforts across multiple stakeholders. This is a very high-visibility role with important activities, projects, and initiatives that will help to advance our mission to deliver AI-driven products and services by working closely with healthcare providers, thought leaders, scientific advisors, associations, and other stakeholders relevant to Iterative Scopes.
This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs and be critical to executing our medical and scientific strategies for SKOUT, a novel artificial intelligence (AI)-aided polyp detection device, as well as other AI products in development for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
Key Responsibilities
- The development and maintaining of external scientific relationships:
- Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
- Professional and Patient Organizations
- Internal Advisory Board
- Internal Pharma Advisory Board
- Project coordination and management of scientific projects with external partners
- Strategic planning for the development and engagement of external scientific partners
- Deep knowledge of external partners capabilities and strategic consideration on utilization across the company
- Management of logistics of scientific partnerships
- Coordination with Iterative Scopes meeting planning and corporate communication departments
- Establishment and reporting of key metrics and progress to key objectives with scientific external partners
- Coordination with field representatives (once developed) to aid deployment and engagement
- Identifying, prioritizing and establishing a budget to support external organization initiatives
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Background in medicine, healthcare, or life sciences, especially in gastroenterology
- Scientific mindset with deep understanding of medical methodologies
- Excellent communicator and relationship builder, able to comfortably engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and externally
- Ability to understand corporate strategic goals and contribute to achieving such goals through scientific engagement with partnership with healthcare providers, KOLs, and scientific advisors
- Ability to communicate ideas and influence without authority
- Team mentality and ability to work in matrixed environment
- Willing to roll up sleeves and dive in where needed
- Desire to grow professionally and personally with potential to eventually manage direct reports
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years professional experience in healthcare
- 2+ years of experience in relationship management field or other relevant experience working with healthcare providers and KOLs
- Ability to juggle multiple initiatives and projects
- Capability to prioritize most important work
- Ability to coordinate across internal and external stakeholders
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to guide / influence without authority
- Confident but humble individual
- Customer-centric thinking and activity
- Ability to represent Iterative Scopes to external parties
