American Robotics (AR) is seeking a Director of Flight Operations to lead the flight operations organization. The flight operations team is key to the enablement of AR's fully automated drone system for industrial inspection. In this role, you will be responsible for leading all operations associated with flight operations. Key tasks include but are not limited to training, evaluating, and leading AR's flight operators. The director of flight operations reports to the VP of operations and will work closely with the operations support manager and the director of flight safety.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Primary focal and leader of the AR flight operations organization
  • Direct, manage and oversee remote operator resources to align with current and future customer demands
  • Foster a safe, yet tech-forward climate to ensure operational safety while accelerating operational scale
  • Two-way communicator: Communication of business objectives and tasks to the flight operations team and advocate of operators needs to product and engineering
  • Interface with customer's operations teams to provide operations updates on a routine basis
  • Serve as the flight operations point of contact and presenter for any customer or other visitor visit to the AR office
  • Ensure a high-quality operational experience for our customers and regulators
  • Serve as a key member on the AR safety council
  • Track, analyze and implement solutions for metrics to include but not limited to: OTD (on time delivery of data from a planned flight) and ORR (operational readiness rate - number of staffed operators and systems available for flight operations)


Qualifications

  • Results-oriented leader with leadership experience in flight operations
  • Proven track record of being accountable for organizational flight operations
  • Demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Data driven leader that can digest aggregated data collected from flight operations to identify gaps and best practices
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of working with UAS operators with a range of experience and skills
  • Team player with solid communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience analyzing and optimizing existing processes
  • 10+ years of flight operations management experience
  • Experience managing operations center preferred (NOC, TOC, JOC)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
