The Mission

NeighborSchools is on a mission to reinvent child care from the ground up.

Today in America, working-parents with young children spend over $75B a year on child care, but the caregivers, the hard-working women* who actually work hands-on with our children, they get paid peanuts. The problem is that big child care centers are so expensive to run that they have to charge parents a ton, and there's still very little left over for the caregivers. This forces the best caregivers to leave child care in search of better wages, and leaves families struggling to find quality care.

At NeighborSchools, we've developed a new solution that puts people first. We help individual caregivers go independent, get licensed, open up micro-daycares in their homes, and work directly with families in the community. Caregivers that launch daycares on NeighborSchools earn 2-3X more than preschool teachers, even while charging parents less for child care. And children benefit from the small, intimate settings and programs led by experienced professionals. That's the win-win-win.

Our goal is to help a million caregivers launch new, independent daycares in the next 10 years and bring quality, affordable child care to every neighborhood in America.

* over 99% of prospective daycare providers signing up for NeighborSchools are women.

The Role

When a caregiver signs up with NeighborSchools, they're depending on us to help them launch their new daycare and their new career.

As a Customer Success Manager at NeighborSchools, your job is to support caregivers every step of the way. You'll welcome them to the community, understand their motivations and goals, and then develop a timeline and strategy that works for them. You'll introduce them to our customer built "business-in-a-box" app and help them stay on track as they prepare to launch their new daycare.

You'll become an expert in child care regulations and licensing requirements, and you'll excel at explaining complicated business and regulatory concepts in a straightforward way that is easy to understand. You should already be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.

Every day you'll do introductory calls with new partners, check-in calls & texts with your current customers, and reach out to anyone you think needs an extra nudge. Talking to people on the phone and helping people should energize you.

You’ll work closely with our recruiting team to refine on onboarding experience, and our operations and engineering team to constantly improve the software platform for our customers.

Qualifications

This is a customer success role, but it’s not a traditional CS role. In order for us to help a caregiver go independent and launch new daycares, they need to be able to depend on NeighborSchools to be there every step of the way. In this role you will be their primary partner and you'll proactively support them in achieving their goals.

Experience & Skills

  • Fluent in written & spoken Spanish and English is a must for this role
  • 2+ years experience in customer-facing success / support role
  • Customer Cheerleader: you bring enthusiasm and energy to every interaction and are always looking for creative ways to delight and help customers.
  • Self-starter: you take initiative and proactively look for ways to help your customers
  • Organized: you can manage competing priorities and are comfortable managing a backlog of customers requirements
  • Tech savvy: Comfortable learning and using new software tools. You'll become an expert in the NeighborSchools software application, and spend many hours every day navigating between our custom-built CRM, Slack, Front, Google Suite, etc.
  • Great team member: you enjoy collaborating with your teammates and you're willing and eager to chip in
  • Experience in a fast-paced high-growth startup is a serious plus
  • Bonus: personal experience finding and selecting child care is a plus, but not a requirement.

If you meet some but not all of the qualifications here, and you’re passionate about our mission and this opportunity, we hope you’ll apply anyway.
