Job Description
Dynatrace is seeking a proven and dynamic leader to serve as our Category Manager - Travel & Events. This role will help develop and launch a Global Travel and Event category strategy while developing and building supplier partnerships. A successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of developing partnerships with senior leaders, internal stakeholders, and third-party suppliers. With the support of Global Procurement, the category manager will work to incorporate strategies into our procurement process ensuring that business and customer priorities are met. This position provides purchasing expertise and support to the various internal departments who utilize these assigned categories and support stakeholders in both vendor management and contract negotiations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for corporate meetings and travel.
- Trade show project negotiation and planning.
- Works in partnership with Global Procurement to support sourcing events and negotiation strategies from requirement building through completion.
- Builds spend and supplier strategy contributing to the corporation's travel, meetings, and events roadmap.
- Document and share best practice methods, processes, policies, and ideas across the business functions; drive innovative thinking and process development throughout the organization.
- Evaluating supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and bench-marking analysis.
- Builds and managers stakeholder relationships, business requirements and spend/ category execution.
- Managing sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with at least 10 years of experience in Category Management/Purchasing/Procurement, MBA preferred
- Minimum of five years of travel and event supplier management
- Minimum of three years negotiating travel and event contracts
- Project management experience
- Proven experience working at a Global level as a corporate travel and events manager
- Enlist strong process and project management skills/ability to manage change
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with other business, product and tech teams and ability to lead through influence
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in procurement and/or finance in a global setting including exposure to travel spend categories, procurement systems and vendor management required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; must be comfortable connecting with and communicating with individuals at all levels of an organization
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task while exhibiting strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of T&E reporting
