Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, results-oriented Transportation Carrier Manager to join our exciting, fast-paced Transportation Team based in Plantation, FL. This role will lead the strategy of our Carrier Management efforts that encompass the execution of all Inbound/Outbound truckload, LTL, Parcel, and Intermodal shipments into our fulfillment centers. Core functions include Logistics strategy, carrier/partner management, lead cross functional projects, manage KPIs that drive carrier performance, routing guide management and executive summary reporting. This role focuses heavy on carrier management and leading cross functional projects related to continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage end-to-end Transportation network for all modes of Transportation on our Inbound network
  • Manage a large network of carriers, develop strategic relationships, and drive improvements in our performance metrics
  • Identify areas of opportunity related to Carrier Experience (Shipper of Choice)
  • Find creative solutions that drive improvements to all Carrier Touchpoints including contracting, onboarding, pricing, communications, freight execution, financials, and exceptions
  • Work closely with carriers to develop and improve carrier performance scorecards
  • Define a clear vision and strategy to communicate expectations and drive execution
  • Hold all team members accountable to drive results by being available, removing barriers and obstacles, facilitating change, and providing coaching/feedback related to performance
  • Evaluate and maintain KPI’s for Transportation carriers to drive higher on-time performance
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies throughout the Transportation network
  • Perform root cause analysis, develop, and implement corrective action plans to improve carrier performance

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 4+ years supply chain experience, with focus in domestic Transportation
  • Experience in analyzing, understanding, and negotiating Truckload, Intermodal, and LTL freight pricing
  • Strong understanding of domestic Transportation, network planning, Inbound flow, and carrier management
  • Experience leading cross-functional continuous improvement projects
  • Experience identifying trends, tracking KPI’s, creating and reporting on freight metrics
  • Able to develop tools, dashboards, and reports to enhance network visibility on cost & service
  • Detail oriented and possesses superior organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing carriers and vendors on large Domestic Networks
  • Self-motivated, high energy, aggressive and proactive on fixing processes & troubleshooting issues
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and lead in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Technical skillset that aligns with TMS and Transportation planning tools/reports
  • Ability to effectively operate both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, SQL, TMS, WMS, Tableau
  • Ability to understand & manage data reports while owning performance metrics that drive business results
  • Flexible work schedule that may require travel and non-standard work hours
  • Ability to make real time decisions with little guidance that impact cost, service, and other Transportation metrics

Bonus:

  • Experience onsite at warehouses, Distribution Centers, or Fulfillment Centers
  • Possess strong leadership skills to implement best practice and hold others accountable
  • E-commerce, retail, CPG, or manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Advanced Degree or APICS certification
  • Proficient in Visio, SQL, Tableau, OTM
