Business Technical Lead
The Opportunity
As a Business Technical Lead for annuities new business, you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative environment, driving key technology enhancements to improve the overall customer and advisor experience.

Our team works closely with internal business and external vendor partners to support technology advancements impacting the annuity new business experience. We are accountable to for the development and execution of a comprehensive roadmap containing both tactical and strategic enhancements, with a core focus on annuity order entry platforms and related tools.

The Impact
As a Business Technical Lead, you will be responsible for performing complex research and analysis to aid in the development and execution of a comprehensive roadmap containing both tactical and strategic technology enhancements supporting the annuity new business experience. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Simplify and streamline the annuity new business submission processes through customer, advisor and business stakeholder feedback
- Identify, prioritize and drive enhancements through collaboration with our annuity new business suitability and broker dealer teams to ensure alignment across the annuity portfolio and product offerings
- Work directly with our business product owner in roadmap definition and coordination of business, technical and vendor resources required to support execution
- Provide analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper business and/or system requirements, with minimal guidance and oversight
- Provide direction and subject matter expertise for defining and supporting strategic direction, while also managing production support and building upon steady state processes and project enhancements, including defect management
- Support readiness and training needs as appropriate (internal and external)
- Represent annuity new business operations in various internal and external/industry initiatives and forums
Basic Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in business consulting and/or project management
- 1+ year of experience working with both business and IT stakeholders
- Strong communicator with ability to build and develop relationships with multiple stakeholder groups to drive adoption and deliver expected benefits
- Demonstrated ability to understand and manage technical requirements and processes
- Demonstrated ability to effectively translate user feedback into technical requirements
- Ability to independently multi-task and manage competing projects and priorities
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining big picture view to ensure alignment across disciplines and stakeholder groups
- Ability to think strategically as well as near term, to assess process and project impacts, in an agile mindset
- Ability to identify and support readiness activities needed for successful implementation of initiatives
- Ability to work in a fast paced, evolving culture requiring adaptability and flexibility in work efforts and behaviors
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of annuities and the new business lifecycle
- Experience with iPipeline or Affirm for Annuities
- Electronic Order Entry Platform Experience / Exposure
- Experience in supporting technology enhancement delivery
- Experience and knowledge of project management disciplines, desired
