Vice President, Global Performance Marketing

OVERVIEW:

The Vice President of Performance Marketing will own Growth Marketing as well as Marketing Operations for Skillsoft globally. This individual will be a driving force in partnership with Sales and Success teams to create a strong pipeline that delivers revenue while ensuring that marketing measurements drive performance and visibility across the global business.

This individual will cultivate a team that understands the interconnectivity of marketing strategy, execution, and measurement to achieve results. The VP of Performance Marketing will be a strategic marketing leader, creating a best in class, data driven, and innovative team supporting operational excellence across all marketing functions.

This senior leader, who will report directly to the CMO, will identify key levers of growth for each of Skillsoft's market segments and communicate these levers across the entire marketing team to grow pipeline, while at the same time maximize conversion points across the customer journey. 

GROWTH MARKETING - OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Identify and outline the customer journey from awareness to justification for a new customer of Skillsoft.
  • Continue to build a function that can pull insights across the customer journey of our customers.
  • Manage the Diamond Team function and process, aligning product marketing, content, demand gen and ancillary diamond functions, to ensure consistent and effective execution of programs that drive results.
  • Develop and deliver the right types of programs that drive demand and opportunity identification across target audiences – from individual learners (e-Commerce) to mid-market and Enterprise (ABM).
  • Present to the senior leadership team on key trends we're seeing across all business units.
  • Create and manage the budget needed to achieve pipeline targets for each of the campaigns. 
  • Continuously report back to the entire marketing team on what campaigns are resonating best with the market keying in on the messages we should double down on and which we should change for better outcomes moving forward.
  • Align closely with the BDR organization and the sales organization globally in order to increase conversion of leads surfaced to the team as well as existing opportunities to closed won business.

MARKETING OPERATIONS - OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Continue to build and create a Marketing Operations function that drives performance and visibility (i.e., Processes, metrics & analytics, marketing automation technology, lead scoring, campaign execution and tracking, budget to pipeline and revenue, database health, etc.).
  • Define and/or re-define key marketing metrics and manage the process of building reports and dashboards that give full visibility on the overall marketing performance to CMO & Customer Market Leaders on weekly/monthly basis.
  • Own the annual marketing planning and budgeting process, ensuring marketing's goals are aligned with Skillsoft's overall strategy.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on the health of marketing contribution to pipeline, ROI, and customer acquisition costs.
  • In partnership with the Data and Analytics team as well as the Business Applications team, lead data strategy development and infrastructure deployment, including technology ownership and marketing process governance.
  • Set strategy, routinely re-evaluate assumptions, data and processes, and proactively identify new opportunities to excel or differentiate. Craft detailed and actionable recommendations.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales stakeholders to ensure that marketing automation and CRM processes facilitate insights and end-to-end visibility.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 15+ years of experience in global marketing strategy & operations and demand generation, SaaS experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Advanced expertise with marketing automation systems.
  • Experience in a role requiring rigorous analytical problem solving, quantitative analysis, and complex stakeholder management.
  • A love of analytics and a proven track record of analyzing campaign performance and ROI, identifying actionable insights to achieve crucial metrics.
  • Enthusiastic problem solver who can improvise and think creatively while optimizing spend.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment, ensuring high quality deliverables and attention to detail.
  • High emotional IQ and ability to think quickly on your feet.
