Role overview
The market in which CarGurus competes is growing and ripe for continued disruption. As part of our growth, CarGurus is looking to add a Vice President of Consumer/Product Marketing for our core listings product and for all of our direct-to-consumer digital offerings like Sell My Car and Digital Retail. You will drive customer lifecycle management (CLM), Retention, and overall Customer Experience strategy for all CarGurus consumer products across the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, and will work closely with our General Managers to drive successful Go-to-Market efforts for all our products. Reporting directly to the CMO, we are seeking a cultural and people leader to drive engagement and tight partnerships across Marketing, Product, and across the Company.

What you'll do
- Set overall vision, strategy, and goals, and drive execution for CarGurus consumer marketing, including product marketing, CLM, and customer experience across all consumer touchpoints.
- Working closely with Product and our Insights team, develop knowledge of our customer and prospect segments to drive effective product recommendations, articulate our value proposition and differentiation, and create messaging and proof-points to enable our marketing efforts.
- Develop and implement unified and robust go-to-market plans for all new product and feature releases, across owned and paid channels.
- Work with all key partners to lead development of future state recommendations that improve the customer journey and communicate our brand consistently across all touchpoints, including our website.
- Increase the value of our website, ensuring brand consistency while optimizing for return on investment across all internal partners. Partner with product to establish site infrastructure requirements that enable thoughtful technical architecture for agile marketing and optimization.
- Assess our current tech stack capabilities to support marketing efforts (CLM, email, landing page creation, etc), and with Product Management and Engineering, and recommend and deliver our future state.
- Recommend and define new features to support retention and a new robust CLM strategy. Bring to life a CarGurus membership program that delivers value to customers and the company.
- Define, build in, track, analyze, and communicate important metrics for all efforts, ensuring the full team remains focused on results.
- Maintain and communicate a deep understanding of the competitive marketplace to drive all consumer marketing efforts.
- Lead a team of impactful marketers, driving high employee satisfaction and engagement, and supporting our Marketing goal to be a team that others want to work on and with.
What you'll bring
- 10+ years of continually growing responsibility and experience leading consumer product marketing and related functions.
- Deep subject matter expertise in all related areas, and knowledge of current practices to from relevant groundbreaking tech companies and brands.
- Results-orientation and drive to win; solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to think strategically and drive executional excellence.
- Ability to drive deliverables in a cross-functional and collaborative environment.
- Ideally, a balance of experience in both a scrappy start-up growth environment, and in a larger more established company, and able to bring the best of both to drive results and speed of delivery.
- Track record of attracting and developing great talent, and of creating collaborative and highly engaged teams.

- Bachelor’s degree required
