Technical SEO Manager
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is growing, we seek to add a SEO Manager of Acquisition Marketing for our headquarters in Boston, MA. This position will work within our digital acquisition marketing team, a group passionate about creating exceptional customer experiences that drive new customers and revenue. The ideal candidate will have strong SEO and analytics experience in an e-commerce setting, thinks holistically about customer journeys and is passionate about data driven decision-making. Keys to success include exceptional attention to detail, ability to work well autonomously, excellent communication and technical analysis skills.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for compiling SEO recommendations and analyzing deliverables and results to internal teams
- Assists in the development of SEO strategies alongside senior team members
- Assist in the production of all SEO-related tasks and deliverables under the guidance of the SEO director
- Be the project manager for SEO efforts
- Help bridge any gap between SEO, social media and other media
- Continuously improve SEO skillset, staying up to date with shifts in the marketplace
- Develop a deep understanding of the retail pet marketplace and how search plays a role in the decision-making process
- Ability to perform keyword research, write optimized HTML tags, provide recommendations on internal linking, content promotion, content creation and implementation of schema mark up
- Utilize tools such as Screaming Frog, MOZ, BrightEdge, SEMRush, Google Webmaster tools and others to perform analysis
- Analyze performance data and implement optimizations to increase ROI of campaigns
- Assist in the research and production of deliverables and activities including:
- Competitor site analysis - Site technology audits
- Content and search trends analysis
- Asset optimization
- Content promotion campaigns
- Curate new industry tools, trends, and updates
What you’ll need:
- 5+ years’ experience working in SEO
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent, preferably in marketing, business or any quantitative or analytical related fields
- PC proficiency and solid working knowledge of MS Office particularly Excel, basic knowledge of pivot tables and V-Lookups
- Experience and knowledge of web analytics software, such as Google Analytics and Adobe, and SEO Tools such as MOZ, Majestic SEO, BrightEdge, Spyfu and others
- Fundamental knowledge of and experience with SQL
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Fundamental understanding of HTML
- Experience with CSS, JavaScript and web design technologies a plus
- Ecommerce background a plus
- Position may require travel
