Talent & Performance Principal Consultant
Job Description:
We are currently looking for a Principal Consultant with extensive background in talent and performance, experienced in internal and external client relationships and comfortable facilitating strategic conversations and decisions. The ideal candidate will have solid experience working with stakeholders on effective program strategy and design, then developing and executing effective employee communication and training campaigns to support the launch and ongoing adoption of employee facing programs. Experience in talent and performance required. Additional experience in human resources or related industries is also preferable.

You will manage regular interaction with clients, strategizing effective change management approaches, providing guidance on talent and performance best practices, producing content for employee communications and training, coordinating the development of other communications activities, and serving as project manager for clients’ communications and training initiatives as they launch and evolve their employee performance initiative. We’re looking for a “thinker and a doer” – someone able to both dream up the big ideas and execute on them.
As part of the Strategy & Consulting Services team, this role works closely in partnership with the Workhuman Sales and Customer Success teams, providing consultation to drive best practice adoption and program success with existing and prospective clients.
This position will report to the Conversations Principal Consultant and is based in Framingham, MA, US.
The value you will deliver:
Lead Talent & Performance Management practice, advancing our thinking, collaborating with other teams, helping clients to maximize the potential from the evolutions in performance management/ development.
Participate with other Principal Consultants in overall team leadership and evolution of best practice thinking.
Propose new processes, systems and tools to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
Coach and mentor team members.
Continually consult with performance application clients on effective talent and performance development strategy and program design.
Drive strategic thinking and develop new methods to support performance application customers in thinking bigger, evolving and growing their performance management and development approach.
Develop communications and training strategies for performance application clients, guide clients on effective communications practices and influence the development of high-quality communications and training materials for clients.
Lead talent and performance-focused workshops and strategy sessions with prospective and existing clients’ leaders.
Collaborate with Sales and Solutions Consulting to develop business cases to support clients’ investment.
Travel to client and prospect sites to support regular account reviews and sales presentations as needed (Covid permitting). Approximately 20%.
Stay current with employee recognition, performance management and related human resources trends and research, and share subject matter expertise through blogs, media interviews, white papers and speaking engagements.
Serve as a thought leader within Workhuman by sharing ideas and expertise and furthering progressive and innovative thinking about talent and performance management.
Other related duties and projects as assigned.

Strong writing skills and comfortable producing concise written communication pieces as well as comprehensive written reports. Demonstrate strong presentation skills and represent themselves in a positive and professional manner. Express ideas, recommendations, and solutions clearly, logically and concisely in both written and verbal communications. Demonstrate tact and diplomacy in communications. Demonstrate active listening skills and ability to respond quickly and creatively to customers’ needs.
Technical & System Knowledge – Stay current with trends affecting our client’s systems and their impact on the client’s business. Maintain familiarity with Workhuman’s own products. Use technology to manage data and information effectively. Significant experience in Microsoft Office.
Adaptability – Stay current with trends affecting the broader talent and performance market, our systems and their impact on the client’s business. Shift priorities and projects as needs change in an agile world.
Knowledge/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or Marketing preferred.
Public speaking skills preferred.
10-12 years of experience in a consulting or HR space, with at least 5 years in talent and performance in an internal or vendor role; proven ability to deliver results.
Demonstrated success leading a dynamic team of experienced practitioners in a customer-facing environment.
Demonstrated ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced, team environment.
A variety of work experience is a plus.
An accredited HR, Talent or Performance qualification is a plus.
