As a Sr. Product Marketing Manager for our Information and Content Solutions (ICS) Business Unit, you will develop a deep understanding of our products, markets, customers and competition, and have responsibility for outbound marketing activities for our product portfolio. In your role as PMM, you will be the expert when it comes to the buyer and influencer personas for your products, understanding how they buy and their buying criteria and transferring that knowledge to the sales and service teams. You will work alongside your product management, marketing, and business unit colleagues to develop an annual marketing plan, create content-driven marketing programs and establish compelling messaging and positioning that drive demand for our products. Great written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, an eye for quality, and the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits, are crucial. In this role, you will:

  • Partner closely with Product Management and Marketing to understand and contribute to product strategy. 
  • Be the market expert on your buyer personas, how they buy, their role in the evaluation and buying process, and why they buy. You will be the expert on your competition. Work with Product Management and Sales to update personas as needed, and ensure that all staff members who build, sell and support your products understand your personas.
  • Develop compelling persona-driven messaging and positioning as well as creative go-to market strategies that clearly articulate the value of our products/services and what differentiates them in the market. 
  • Identify trends and track the marketplace. Share your insights proactively with Product Management, Marketing and customer-facing teams, and be a responsive, go-to resource to support sales and product management.
  • Plan and implement demand generation campaigns, events, and collateral to help achieve business unit sales and revenue goals including email campaigns, webinars, tradeshow participation, product sheets, whitepapers, advertising, and web content. 
  • Plan, build and execute product launch plans. This involves working with Product Management to identify key deliverables and leading groups across the global business to ensure a successful launch. Working with colleagues in marketing and product management, create compelling and easy-to-understand internal-facing content that includes sales training, sales tools, competitive positioning, FAQs and battlecards. 
  • Working with internal analytics team, report on marketing program performance metrics to inform future marketing investment.
  • Support sales and channel partner opportunities as required.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Superior communication skills, including narrative, PowerPoint, and public speaking
  • Able to successfully lead projects with minimal guidance
  • Highly collaborative and able to lead, partner and influence effectively
  • Demonstrated track record of success in product marketing and marketing communications, including crafting compelling positioning, creating marketing content and delivering campaigns with measurable results
  • Ability to drive consensus and articulate program recommendations and tradeoffs to senior stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of experience in technology product marketing
  • Technical aptitude with experience in technology/information services, content management, content delivery or the educational market is a plus
  • Bachelor’s in business or marketing preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and familiarity with Salesforce
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%)
