Drift is the new way that businesses buy from businesses, and we’re looking for Social Media Manager to join our marketing team at our headquarters in Boston.

In this role, you would own social media and community at Drift. We’re saying “social media and community” because we think there are two key pieces here:

  • Managing, posting, starting conversations, and replying to everyone across all of our social channels.
  • Building and growing communities online -- from turning our followers into raving fans to creating new places for them to hang outline like a LinkedIn group or Slack community.

But here’s the catch: this role isn’t just about posting. It’s about growth. So if you’re obsessed with finding new ways to grow social channels and can’t stop thinking about all of the new things you want to do with social media, this role might be the perfect fit for you.

What you will be doing on the marketing team at Drift:

  • You will own all of our social media channels at Drift, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and more.
  • You’ll be responsible for posting new content and engaging with people across all of those channels and making them feel part of the Drift community.
  • You’ll be responsible for all of our posting and responses online. We’re lucky enough to have an amazing community of Drift fans and followers, so we like to reply to everyone personally vs. automating social posts.
  • You’ll be responsible for managing and optimizing the content and pages for each channel and understanding which content might work on Instagram but not LinkedIn, etc. (to give you an example)
  • You’ll own the growth of all of those channels and reporting/analysis back to the team on new followers, engagement, traffic driven from each channel, new things we should be testing, and more.
  • You’ll have the best understanding of our audience and have built a list of our key influencers online that we can tap into for product launches, announcements, surprise and delight, and more.
  • You’ll work closely with all of the key stakeholders in marketing to prioritize, schedule, and promote their content.

About you and what type of skills you’ll need:

  • You have a passion for social media.
  • You have built a strong social presence for yourself.
  • You can point to examples of brands who do an amazing job with social that you think are role models.
  • You are fluent in tools Hootsuite, MeetEdgar, Buffer, BuzzSumo and more.
  • You love content and know the latest trends across all types of channels -- from blogging to audio to video.
  • You love checklists, process, and building repeatable systems for social.
  • You have a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a social media marketing role.
  • Overall, you are obsessed with marketing. You live and breathe marketing (from books to podcasts to blog posts) and you’re always thinking about new things you could be doing and testing.
