- Work to attain a deep knowledge of athenaNet functionality.
- Interview subject matter experts.
- Take online and in-person training.
- Read online help and business documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the product team and other subject matter experts weekly to document athenaNet functionality changes for biweekly releases, meeting hard deadlines.
- Document functionality in Google Docs and MadCap Flare.
- Take screenshots in SnagIt.
- Communicate regularly with SMEs to confirm accuracy of content.
- Use JIRA to track documentation changes.
20% Publish documentation
- On a biweekly basis, upload PDFs to client-facing community platform and use source control tool to publish documentation to athenaNet.
- In MadCap Flare, create HTML5 and PDF versions of documentation.
- Use Perforce to check documentation into codebase.
- Use Jive to upload PDFs to client community platform.
- Use JIRA to submit code changes to Release Engineering.
5% Visit client sites and attend professional training
- Observe clients using athenaNet and its documentation.
- Attend professional conferences, seminars, and webinars.
Education, Experience, & Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 years of professional experience authoring process documentation or online help
- Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills, including group presentation and relationship development skills
- Working knowledge of HTML
- Experience in an Agile development environment preferred
- Advanced user Madcap Flare, Adobe RoboHelp, or similar authoring tool preferred
- Intermediate user of SnagIt, Photoshop, or similar graphics tool preferred
- Working knowledge of cascading style sheets (.css files) preferred
- Working knowledge of Bugzilla, JIRA, or similar bug tracking tool preferred
- Working knowledge of Perforce, SourceSafe, or similar source control tool preferred
- Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
- Proficiency in additional support tools: WebEx, SharePoint, and Jive preferred
