If you think the traditional PR playbook is broken, this is the job for you. HubSpot is looking for an experienced PR professional to lead HubSpot’s PR team. In this role, you will be the one responsible for designing what modern PR looks like for a public tech company that has “redefining the marketing playbook” at the core of its DNA.

This role sits on the Content Team, which means you’ll have access to the resources you need -- writers, designers, videographers, researchers, copywriters -- to see your ideas come to life. You’ll also have the opportunity to not only work very closely with HubSpot’s executive team, you’ll also collaborate with our thought leadership team, content channel owners, product marketing, and our brand team, making for a very high-profile role in the company.

This role requires that you have a high level of skill in content creation and story-telling, project management, relationship-building, and leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Help usher the company into a new era -- we made our name on inbound marketing, but we’re more than that now. You’ll be responsible for helping redefine what HubSpot is to the market.
  • Get buy-in for the PR program and your story ideas from key internal stakeholders
  • Have a pulse for what the market cares about, and how our company’s stories can contribute to that narrative
  • Identify gaps in what the market cares about -- places where people are focused on the wrong things -- and get them to see a new way of looking at things
  • Find the fascinating stories that lie within seemingly mundane things
  • Make a splash with stories -- get public buzz going around important launches and company initiatives
  • Conduct constant measurement and campaign analysis to influence future campaign development, and report on campaign performance to the executive team and Marketing team.

This job might be for you if:

  • You are an effective leader
  • You have developed a viewpoint on how PR should be done that differs from “best practice”
  • You have a proven track record coming up with remarkable PR campaigns and story ideas
  • You are a skilled writer and editor
  • You have experience getting placements in large, high-esteem publications
  • You are organized, detailed, and process-oriented to find inefficiencies and develop repeatable, efficient methods of campaign management
  • You are comfortable driving both strategy and day-to-day execution
  • You have a track record of establishing productive and trusting relationships with reporters
  • You have experience developing strong relationships both internally and externally
  • You conduct constant measurement and campaign analysis to inform your work
  • You embody HEART
