Atlassian is looking for a communications leader to craft and nurture the stories that we share with the world. You will lead communications for Atlassian's work management offerings for non-technical teams, driving programs for cross-Atlassian initiatives and individual products such as Trello and Confluence.
In this role, you will help position Atlassian as the leading company defining the future of work for all teams, expanding beyond our existing authority in the IT and software development markets. You will drive the development of differentiated positioning for Atlassian overall and our core products for work management. As a strategic communications partner to executives across the company, you'll build the future of Atlassian's reputation by helping them clearly articulate our vision. You'll be part of a global communications team, reporting to the Head of Product Communications.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive internal alignment to develop Atlassian messaging for non-technical audiences of knowledge workers.
- Develop and execute on the external communications strategy for our core and emerging work management products, including Trello and Confluence. You will focus on the earned channels while partnering with the teams responsible for owned and paid channels in the process.
- Maintain a steady cadence of communications activities outside of major launches, with a focus on proactive thought leadership, trend-spotting, and competitive de-positioning.
- Help build positioning and differentiated points-of-view for emerging Atlassian products targeting this market.
- Managing speaking opportunities for executives, including creating positioning, event submissions, and external presentations.
- Contribute to global comms team strategy and support cross-product team initiatives such as external events, analyst relations, and product launches.
More about you:
- Minimum of 8 years of communications experience with enterprise technology - in-house or at an agency. Ideally, you will have experience crafting enterprise technology stories for general business audience.
- Ability to build and run communications programs independently.
- Experience in driving consensus and influencing key internal decision-makers on communications programs.
- Relationships with business, future of work, and technology journalists and influencers.
- A knack for knowing what will interest media and industry analysts, and how to fine-tune messaging for different audiences.
- Top notch decision-making skills: ability to prioritize among competing opportunities and articulate the rationale behind decisions.
- Great writing skills, with a love for penning messaging platforms, pitches, press releases, and executive speaking points.
- An interest in the latest moves in technology and the future of work.
- High-energy, with the ability to be scrappy and multi-task to prioritize high-profile projects while juggling urgent inbound requests with ease.
