Senior Data Analyst, Brand Marketing

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst, Brand Marketing to conduct analysis and build reporting that guides, advances and measures the effectiveness of CarGurus marketing campaigns. This position will focus on brand and lifecycle marketing analysis, will report directly to the Director of Brand Marketing in CarGurus’ consumer marketing team, and have significant cross-functional interaction with insights, performance marketing, analytics and external media partners.
The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years data analyst experience, with some or all of that in marketing analysis, and possess knowledge of marketing principles and concepts including CAC, LTV, ROI etc.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop quantitative analysis and reporting to provide insight into performance of brand and lifecycle marketing programs and identify opportunities for improvements. Initial projects will include TV campaign analysis, new media tests and assisting with multi-channel attribution reporting
- Partner with cross functional teams to plan, develop, and execute analyses that lead to actionable insights and new marketing campaigns
- Analyze website traffic and leads trends including paid and organic channels, and provide complex reporting on website usage and behavior patterns
- Extract data from multiple sources to create understandable reports and presentations
- Use knowledge of marketing analysis disciplines to solve unique issues and problems
- Plan and analyze results of marketing tests to inform iteration, creative and media strategy
- Present data analysis, visualizations, and insights to key stakeholders
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Masters in a related field preferred (e.g. Marketing, Business, Sociology, Psychology or Economics)
- 3 - 5 years data analyst experience required with strong preference for some or all of that in marketing analysis
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and its functions required
- Working knowledge of various data analysis and reporting tools and comfort in getting up to speed on new tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Google Analytics or similar business intelligence tools)
- Knowledge of SQL preferred
- Knowledge of Statistics preferred
- Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
