Marketing Specialist - Shark (Cordless)
Position Overview
The Marketing Specialist for Shark will be an integral member of the brand marketing team that helps develop and manage go to market plans that drive consistency in voice, tone, and message across all channels (i.e. Packaging, Advertising, Infomercial, PR, Social/Content Marketing and Web Properties, collateral, trade etc.) to ensure product lines are set up for success with a focus on consumer-led content, accuracy and timeliness.
Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with the Product Development, Creative Services and Marketing Services teams to drive the execution of brand building communication strategies and go-to-market plans for new products.
•Drive a consumer first mentality to develop relevant messaging and assets that deliver clear consumer understanding of products and brand and that will drive high purchase intent.
•Support creative briefing and execution all marketing launch assets including storyboards, lifestyle photography, packaging, in-store merchandising, digital content, and more.
•Manage creative development processes (i.e. timeline, approvals, protocols).
•Partner with regional marketing teams to understand business needs, retailer trends & challenges, share best practices, and identify synergies to drive consistency in global messaging.
•Become an expert in the category - understand price, positioning, competitive landscape, and market needs. Translate category insights into marketing actions and track against progress and validation.
•Analyze key business drivers, competitive trends, direct competitors’ success and strategies, marketplace dynamics & consumer need gaps that lead to disruptive, breakthrough new product propositions.
•Communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools to support the product sell-in process to retailers.
Key Functional Skills/Knowledge:
•Strong communication skills - ability to deliver effective presentations to all levels of management
•Highly analytical - comfortable mining and analyzing data and drawing conclusions
•Attention to detail- can coordinate all timelines & deliverables to ensure accuracy and consistency across all consumer facing materials
•Influential Activator – biased towards action, driving cross functional team to goal. Leans into creative problem solving and conflict resolution to ensure progress
•Project Management skills - ability to manage several projects in parallel, navigating a complex cross-functional matrix
•Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
Education and Experience Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree (preferably in marketing or communications) or equivalent experience
•1-2 years prior Marketing experience with consumer-packaged goods
•Prior experience leveraging consumer insights to develop effective marketing programs and campaigns
