We are looking for a Marketing Copywriter to join our creative and passionate in-house Content team. The Marketing Copywriter will play a pivotal role in helping Simply Business to capitalize on our exciting growth, helping us to cement our brand as a leader in the small business insurance space.
The Marketing Copywriter will work directly with the Senior Manager of Digital Content to help plan, create, and optimize customer-centric copy for various marketing channels, with a particular emphasis on organic and email content.
But no matter which channel this person is writing for, they will bring a natural sense of storytelling and drive for creating the kind of content that helps empower small business owners across the country.

As a Marketing Copywriter, you will:
- Create compelling content that inspires readers to take action, whether it’s to download a guide or buy an insurance policy
- Exhibit comfort using quantitative and qualitative data to inform which content opportunities we should pursue
- Ideate, create, and optimize blog articles, email content, campaign creatives, and more
- Bring new ideas for content tests to the table, whether it’s a new subject line or how to improve our CTAs
- Be obsessed with looking for new ways to test and optimize content
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure our brand voice is consistent and clear
- Manage multiple content projects simultaneously without breaking a sweat
- Pivot quickly to work with cross-functional teams
- Be a strong advocate for our customers
- Have stellar written and verbal communication skills
- Exhibit a passion for entrepreneurship!
What we are looking for:
- 5-7 years of experience in the content marketing field
- Strong experience in email copywriting
- Proficient SEO copywriting knowledge
- Experience within an in-house content or marketing team preferred
- Content planning experience a plus
- Excellent understanding of how to interpret data to inform content
- A portfolio of work that demonstrates the candidate’s skills across multiple marketing channels
- An innovative thinker who can balance the desire for creativity with the need for business outcomes
- Agile self-starter who loves working within a team but can easily work independently on a content project

What's going on with work from home and return to the office?
More and more, people are talking about going back to the workplace and the new normal. At Simply Business, we’re thinking of it as a Better Normal. That means offering our SBers more choice and greater flexibility to work in a way that’s best for their particular job, their teams, and their lives.
We’re shifting to a hybrid working model, so we’ll have employees working virtually and in the office at any given time.
We’re also aware there are times when working together in person is the best way to get things done. We expect our SBers to connect in their hubs (that’s what we call our offices) most likely once every few weeks. That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, so we expect all SBers and their teams will find the operating rhythm that works best for them.
