Acquia is searching for a Marketing Content Specialist responsible for content writing and maintaining the output of the content on Acquia’s public facing properties. This individual will write engaging and topic-relevant content that reinforces Acquia brand and supports our business efforts. This position will require you to extract the expertise that’s sitting inside colleagues’ minds and desktops, recreating it into various content types. This position will also work within the content management system Drupal to create landing pages for content pieces (ebooks, whitepapers, webinars, datasheets and video) and launch blog posts on the web.
The ideal candidate will have experience in writing, editing, and proofreading content specifically in the marketing, brand, and marketing integration topics. These pieces will be used by Marketing and Sales, including e-communications, marketing collateral, website copy, blog posts, and other content that showcases Acquia as a thought leader and influence peer-to-peer discussions.
Work with marketing team, sales, operations, account managers, and other key executives to write content to align with the overall topics assigned.
Write impactful content in support of marketing area business development, demand generation, and brand awareness
Edit documents for grammar, style, and content ensuring compliance with guidelines and brand style guide.
Prepare weekly blog posts tailored to customer segments and personas.
Publish content in a variety of formats by teaming with marketing peers who drive the distribution of the content through inbound and outbound marketing programs, social media channels, PR, and internal portals.
Publishing of content in Acquia’s content management system, Drupal.
Build, maintain, and update web pages on Acquia’s public-facing websites.
Work with product marketing managers, copywriters, development and web production to translate business goals into highly effective site pages
Become highly proficient using Drupal - the content management system combined with brief knowledge of HTML/CSS.
Participate in support of Web team and SEO activities, processes, documentation and knowledge sharing as required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in English, writing, marketing, communications, journalism, or a related area.
2+ years experience in marketing, publishing, communications or related fields.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills; excellent proofreading skills [NOTE: writing samples might be required as part of the hiring process.]
Knowledge of the marketing industry and trends and experience writing on these topics.
Experience with translating technical speak into non-technical content for effective online materials
Experience working with Drupal or a similar content management system
Knowledge of best practices with writing engaging content.
Basic understanding of SEO and how best to optimize digital content
Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
Flexible, positive self-starter and team-player with creative abilities.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, multi-task, and work under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal skills, especially when dealing with vendors, customers, senior executives, sales teams and business partners.
Experience working on or with a marketing team and familiarity with aspects of a campaign process
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Google Docs, sheets, slides.
