Manager, Marketing Analytics
Manager, Marketing Analytics (RetailConvergence.com, LP; Boston, Massachusetts): Lead efforts to solve some of the most analytically complex questions that our fast-growing ecommerce company faces. Do so by leading a team in analyzing the trove of data that the company has access to including web traffic, sales, and customer data and applying the results into actionable insights.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Lead a portfolio of analytics areas as well as a small team of analysts to actively translate complex analytics tasks into concise and easily consumable outputs to help marketing stakeholders make data driven decisions and to qualify marketing campaigns and incentives for payback and return on investment.
- Prioritize and manage complex advanced analytics projects and communicate progress with key stakeholders.
- Help to drive the company’s marketing strategy and initiatives by utilizing data and analytics.
- Deliver standard marketing analytics outputs such as forecasting, customer segmentation and business impact valuations.
- Design and automate reports/dashboards for the consumption of business stakeholders.
- Develop consistent approaches and methodologies to develop a best in class analytics practice.
- Collaborate with complementary departments within the organization to further analytics acceptance and culture.
- Translate complex analytics tasks into concise and easily consumable reports and insights and tell a compelling story a non-technical audience.
- Develop consistent approaches and methodologies, automate repeatable tasks and drive process efficiencies.
- Proactively look for opportunities to improve the business outside of the specific questions asked and understand how to influence the organization to make the needed changes.
Note: This position provides analytical guidance to its Team on projects including work and resource allocation. Does not have hiring or firing authority over Team members.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics or a related analytical field and 3 years of experience in business to consumer database marketing analytics.
Must also have: (I) Hands on experience in database querying using SQL (or similar query language), databases, and data warehouses. (II) Knowledge and experience using Business Intelligence (BI) / visualization tools including Excel, Tableau, Spotfire, and QlikView. (III) Experience with hypothesis testing and basic statistical principles. (IV) Experience working with technology teams including engineering, business intelligence, data warehousing and data science to implement data-analytics solutions. (V) Demonstrated track record multitasking over several projects and demonstrating an innovative, positive and self-directed attitude interested in figuring out solutions to problems or methodologies for improving deliverables. (VI) Experience mentoring and/or managing analysts.
