Product Marketing Strategist - Investments Content - Hybrid-Boston
The Opportunity
This role is a high individual contributor and serves as a content strategist. This position will be a hybrid specialist with skills ranging from strategy to content creation, execution, and deployment.
The Content Strategist will support and collaborate to execute on the Investment Marketing's content strategy based on MassMutual Investments product, brand, and distribution business objectives.
The Team
The Investment Marketing team is part of the broader Product Marketing group within MassMutual and is dedicated to supporting the products and services offered through MassMutual Investments. We are a smallish team, but we are supported by the broader marketing organization. This means your individual role will have a big impact on both getting the core marketing completed each quarter as well as helping to develop longer-term messaging and campaigns.
The Impact
Key to success in this role will be establishing strong partnerships across the investments organization and collaborating in the planning and management of core quarterly collateral, such as the fund commentaries, as well as working to develop engaging content that will be deployed across multiple platforms and distribution channels in the investment space.
Responsibilities include:
Manage quarterly updates of fund commentaries and all economic updates
Collaborate on the content strategy roadmap and calendar in addition to contributing to a vision for the channel's content messaging across the investment strategies family of products.
Manage and curate the investment marketing library evolving it to meet the changing demand of the market and key business partners.
Responsively leverage the knowledge of market dynamics and product relevance to develop creative new marketing materials and approaches.
Oversee and continually improve quarterly production in maintaining the investment marketing library.
Be a driver in the development of whitepapers and standing up co-sponsored Investments orient collateral
Develop and co-sponsor an editorial calendar along with organizing a cross-functional content committee.
Negotiate and set creative priorities, and points of view, and provide thought leadership vision.
Continually seek out and find opportunities to publish articles or content on our LinkedIn showcase page
Essential Job Functions
Subject matter expert for the overall content library; Content writer, editor, and creator.
Co-sponsor of Editorial Board, including setting content themes and creating content maps to support tier one and two campaigns.
Stay current on content marketing best practices and insights and socialize to help guide content planning and creative development.
Champion a test-and-learn approach to elevating MassMutual's content maturity
Maintain an external lens – build knowledge of industry trends and monitor key competitors' content activities and results
Work with our Investment team to develop product content
Facilitates creative development of content
Facilitates product SME, compliance/legal content review process
Interacts with product lead and stakeholders to obtain feedback on the content
Self-starter with excellent time management and prioritization skills who can manage projects independently with a hands-on approach
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or High School Diploma with 7+ years of relevant experience in Marketing or Branding in lieu of degree
7+ years of financial services industry marketing experience required
Strong attention to detail and the analytical abilities needed to interpret key business objectives into content and campaigns
Experience in content strategy development
Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite – PowerPoint, Word, Excel
Due to the nature of this position, as a part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA
Ideal Qualifications
Master's or Advanced Degree or working towards Advanced Certificate
The ideal candidate should have experience marketing investment products.
Past experience in managing content communications, marketing, or branding
Demonstrated experience collaborating cross-functionally and building consensus among multiple stakeholders in a matrixed environment
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of regulatory implications of marketing, advertising, and media
Creative thinker, team player, and positive influencer
Previous experience with Seismic is a plus
