Who You Are:
Hometap is looking for an experienced marketer to lead and drive our search engine marketing strategy, and be the primary owner of our SEO and SEM channels. SEO and SEM are important channels for Hometap, and while both are driving meaningful traffic and lead volume, both programs have a TON of room for continued growth and optimization.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in SEO and have a strong understanding of the trends and tactics that improve organic search performance. Additionally, they’ll ideally have experience managing SEM or other paid digital marketing channels and have a track record of developing, scaling, and optimizing campaigns within online advertising platforms.
Reaching and educating homeowners as they’re researching financing options and ways to fund their financial goals is critical to the success of our business, and this position plays an integral role in driving our business' growth and success.
What You'll Do:
- Regularly perform keyword and competitive research to identify gaps in our content and strategies for how we can rank higher in search results
- Work closely with our Content team to develop and optimize our content for SEO
- Identify technical improvements to our website and work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to address these
- Drive our backlinking strategy, including coming-up with “outside the box” ways to add high-quality backlinks, and continuously re-evaluate existing backlinks
- Analyze and monitor channel and campaign performance, identify trends, and make changes to optimize performance and calibrate lead volume
- Drive testing strategy from ideation through execution, including testing new campaigns, keywords, bidding strategies, ad copy, and site link extensions, and testing different tactics to optimize our landing pages for conversion
- Evaluate other platforms for SEM beyond Google and Bing
- Take full ownership of all SEO/SEM metrics/KPIs, monitoring ongoing organic/paid search performance, and providing monthly reporting to the Marketing team and other stakeholders
- Leverage insights learned from SEO to inform our SEM strategy and vice versa
- Partner with and leverage internal teams to support the development of your programs, including Product and Engineering, Content Marketing, Design, Product Marketing, and Marketing Operations
- Cultivate relationships with existing vendors and agencies
- Systematically keep tabs on what our competitors are doing and what we might be able to learn from them
- Stay up to date with the latest SEO and digital marketing trends and best practices
What You Bring:
- 5+ years of SEO experience and ideally experience managing SEM or other paid digital marketing channels
- Proven track record of achievement in delivering against goals and driving meaningful impact
- Strong analytical skills and comfort in a data-driven business environment; strong Excel skills are a must!
- Self-starter with an ownership mindset and bias towards execution
- Ability to multitask, and feels comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and is not afraid to pivot
- Experience using Google Search Console, SEMrush, Conductor, or similar SEO tools, as well as experience standing-up and managing campaigns in the Google Ads and Bing platforms. Familiarity with Wordpress or similar CMS is also helpful
