Director, Communications
Director of Communications, TripAdvisor Experiences
TripAdvisor seeks a strategic, creative and tech-savvy communications leader to head internal and corporate communications for its Experiences business unit. This person will help develop and execute the business narrative both internally and externally. He or she will be responsible for leading org-wide internal communications (all-hands meetings and written communications), and, externally, they’ll oversee a significant area of B2B communications (conferencing, launch messaging and communications, our animal welfare program, and more).
What this role does:
Work with management team and stakeholders to develop corporate messaging for internal and external channels
Lead, oversee and execute on all internal communications for an organization of 1000+ spread across the US, Europe, Australia and Asia. This includes coordination of and creating content for regular all-hands meetings, as well as ownership of a monthly newsletter and other forms of regular org-wide comms.
Lead and oversee a large portion of B2B communications. This includes:
Conferencing (negotiating agreements, content creation, event management)
Communications plans for product launches
Lead and oversee our animal welfare program, in partnership with the wider TripAdvisor business. This includes advising and collaborating on policy updates with the wider org, working with stakeholder groups and project managing on-site changes
The role has two direct reports
This role reports to the senior director, communications, TripAdvisor Experiences
Experience requirements:
Minimum 7 years in a senior communications role (in tech), including:
Extensive experience in B2B, internal and executive communications and storytelling
Extensive experience in corporate event management (all-hands meetings and conferences)
Extensive experience advising members of a senior leadership team in a communications capacity
Extensive leadership experience managing large projects/programs
Proven track record in successful problem solving
Previous experience in the travel industry preferred
Previous people management experience
Outstanding writing skills
