Director, Analyst Relations
Job Description:
The analyst relations leader must be a strategist and an orchestrator, ensuring all relevant internal (executives, stakeholders and so on) and external (industry analysts) collaborate on and execute in alignment with the analyst relations strategy, as well as internal and external initiatives, as appropriate. As such, the role will have primary and, in certain instances, shared responsibilities to:
- Build and oversee the end-to-end execution of the analyst relations strategy, and corresponding programs and initiatives
- Serve as the liaison between industry analysts and the company while maintaining professional decorum, attention to detail, timeliness, and mutually and strategically beneficial engagements.
- Foster and strengthen relationships with primary, secondary and tertiary analysts to ensure well-rounded engagement, feedback and, ultimately, well-rounded outcomes.
- Develop and deploy analyst relations best practices for program elements, such as inquiry, briefing, events and evaluations, and sharing insights, trends and research.
- Manage analyst relations operations — specifically, third-party resources such as budget, contracts and tools, in addition to defining, measuring and reporting on metrics/outcomes.
- Set expectations, based on executive, stakeholder and corporate goals, on what analyst relations can achieve with the resources at hand.
- Identify and develop spokespeople, including executives and subject matter experts, to ensure fluid and deliberate messages are shared and best practices are deployed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to drive outbound engagement and inbound insights in alignment with corporate and analyst relations objectives.
- Define a communications cadence and feedback loop to ensure the dissemination of analyst insight from engagements and research is shared with the right stakeholders at the right time.

- Must be open to experimenting with new approaches, testing the hypothesis and establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) that can help determine effectiveness.
Technical skills
- A strong understanding of the technology landscape
- Ability to learn and articulate the company’s approach to a technology and/or service and its place in the ecosystem
- Ability to deliver business cases and points of validation
- Balance strategic and creative thinking with tactical and detailed execution.
Background
Experience
- 10+ years of B2B technology experience
- 5-7 years in marketing, strategy or communications roles in enterprise technology and/or service providers
- 3+ years of experience in analyst relations preferred
Track record
- Ability to provide examples of analyst relations programs, its objectives, strategic programs/initiatives and outcomes from prior roles in enterprise technology or service providers, with the corresponding impact on the business
- Ability to provide examples of exceptional reputation among the analyst community, existing relationships with firms and analysts
- Ability to articulate and provide examples of understanding research and advisory firm processes, in addition to showcasing your ability to negotiate contracts and providing maximum value with analyst relations budget
Education
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in marketing or business preferred
- Master of Business Administration a plus
