About the Digital Marketing Manager Position

The qualified candidate will be tasked with becoming the trusted advisor for our clients, which requires having a deep knowledge and understanding of all aspects of digital marketing, particularly with regard to marketing automation, paid search, and other inbound marketing tactics. In this role, you will need to be comfortable with and capable of communicating the vision and benefits of various aspects of digital marketing platforms and have hands-on experience with at least one platform in each category. You should have a sound understanding of how and where these platforms tie into marketing strategies for clients, and be able to communicate their advantages and disadvantages to both technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of our clients’ organizations. You will also need to be comfortable and capable of both planning digital marketing programs and executing them.

Digital Marketing Managers should be curious and knowledgeable in many disciplines specifically within digital marketing and web design. These disciplines should ideally include knowledge or experience in digital analytics ( i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, WebTrends, etc), tag management (i.e. Google Tag Manager, Tealium, ADM, etc), email marketing (specifically Episerver Campaign and Sitecore EXM are beneficial), social media marketing, and search engine optimization. They should know how to connect the dots between the marketing channel that brought someone to the site, how that user should be able to move through the site, and how user information can be captured or re-engaged with other marketing efforts all in tandem with what occurs on the site (personalization for users, conversion funnels by user type, recapture of lost users, etc). You should know how to determine if a platform is performing properly to collect user data, how to analyze the information, how to extrapolate the information, how to present the information, and how to connect all the pieces of a story for better optimization moving forward.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the trusted adviser for our clients by guiding them through the marketing platform planning and execution processes, including leading Demand Generation Workshops.
  • Map out and execute on timelines to increase clients' digital marketing maturity.
  • Work with engineering teams to implement digital marketing campaigns and customizations according to client needs.
  • Consult with clients to develop and execute digital marketing strategies that align with their business goals and objectives.
  • Understand and manage paid search campaigns, marketing automation, social media marketing, and other inbound marketing tactics.
  • Develop and implement personalization scenarios within multiple content management systems (mainly Sitecore and Episerver).
  • Understand A/B and multivariate testing and how it can be applied to D/UX decisions.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in technical marketing platforms (i.e. marketing automation, SEO tool/platforms, social media marketing, pay-per-click advertising, CRM, business intelligence, tag management platforms such as Google Tag Manager, Tealium, Omniture, etc.)
  • Deep working experience with digital agencies, system integrators, or marketing service providers is highly preferred
  • Strong technical acumen and excellent communication and presentation skills required
  • Have a sound understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each digital channel, as well as how the different channels work well in tandem
  • Experience with Sitecore, Episerver, Sitefinity, e-commerce platforms a plus
  • University/college degree required
