Job Summary
This positionis responsible for supportingthe Bank's activities in organizational communications, public relations, media relations, social media, and government relations. The Communications Associate must use a variety of communications skills and tools to support efforts to inform and educate various audiences about the work of the Federal Reserve Bank. He or she will work closely with the Communications Strategy team by providing tactical communications assistance on a variety projects. A successful candidate will be conscientious, highly organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and have great attention to detail.
Principal Accountabilities
- Contribute to the development, editing, and posting of content to the Bank's intranet, bostonfed.org, internal digital signage, and other channels.
- Develop relationships with key internal stakeholders to assist the communications strategy team with maintenance of content and messaging in support of the Bank's communications goals and strategies.
- Contribute to certain administrative, research, writing, and logistical tasks on behalf of the department and its leadership, as needed.

This position is not required to directly supervise others.
Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge and experience normally acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of Bachelor's degree, with a major in communications, journalism, public relations, or political science and a minimum of 1-2 years of related job or internship experience.
- Must have excellent attention to detail and display enthusiasm and commitment to tasks.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be willing to tackle a variety of projects on a day-to-day basis and display effective organization of projects.
- Must be able to handle the demands of sensitive and sometimes urgent communications in a complex organization with calm, poise, and tact.
- Must be able to work exceptionally well with colleagues at all levels, on teams, and when necessary to work and manage tasks independently.
- Must possess basic editorial (experience with AP Style is a plus) and research skills, particularly the ability to skillfully complete projects under tight deadlines, and draw on a variety of resources to achieve results.
- Possessing journalistic instincts, as well as a keen interest in financial services, economics, and community development are a plus.
- Displays effective listening skills and excels in interpersonal communication.
- Must have experience and be comfortable with Microsoft Office applications- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Past experience using website content management systems is a plus.
- Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively as a so-called ambassador for the Bank.
