We’re looking for a marketing designer to join our growing team! You’ll focus mainly on brand and marketing, with occasional forays into product design. One week, you might be crafting signage for an industry event, the next, designing a website page for a new feature launch. We’ll also look to you for feedback on the UI and overall look of the Lightdash console, so bring your opinions! 🙂 This role is a great fit for someone who loves variety and wants to shape the way Lightdash looks and feels.

What we’re looking for
  • Must haves:

    • Proven experience designing and building responsive web pages in Framer

    • 5+ years of experience as a designer, a portfolio of brand and marketing design work

    • 2-3 year of experience working at a startup (ideally SaaS)

    • Based in EMEA

  • Comfortable working on both digital and print projects, including large format printing like booth graphics

  • An interest and prior experience in UX is a plus

  • Happy to work independently and switch between priorities quickly

  • Strong communication skills and comfortable giving and receiving feedback in a remote team

What you’ll do
  • Design and ship pages for marketing and product on lightdash.com in Framer

  • Maintain and evolve our brand visuals across different channels

  • Create assets for marketing campaigns, events, and internal projects

  • Design booths, signage, and printed materials for events

  • Contribute to product UI

  • Work closely with the growth team, marketing and leadership to keep design consistent across everything we do

How we work at Lightdash
  • We build in the open. As an open-source product, we share our work early and often, including design.

  • We value substance over hype. The experience of using Lightdash should feel as good as what we promise.

  • We challenge ideas, not people. Feedback is about improving the work, not pointing fingers.

  • We work together. Designers, engineers and growth all collaborate closely.

  • We aim for impact. We’d rather get something in front of users quickly and improve it than polish it endlessly.

Our design stack
  • Web: Framer, Figma

  • Brand/Print: Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

  • Collaboration: Notion, Slack, Gather

  • Product UI: Figma, light UX tools, AI prototyping

We believe a diverse team creates better products and better experiences. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities and experiences.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
