Meet Upside:

We created Upside to transform brick-and-mortar commerce. Our technology uses the sophistication of online retail—profit measurement, attribution, and incrementality—to provide users with more value on their everyday purchases and brick-and-mortar businesses with new, profitable customers. We’ve helped millions of users earn 2 to 3 times more cashback than any other product, and hundreds of thousands of brick-and-mortar businesses earn measurable profit. Billions of dollars in commerce run through the Upside platform every year, and that value goes directly back to our retailer partners, the consumers they serve, and important sustainability initiatives.

The Impact You'll Make:

We’re hiring a Lifecycle Operations Manager to join our Lifecycle Marketing team at Upside. This person will play a key role in enabling the infrastructure, data systems, and operational processes that power our lifecycle marketing engine.

  • Data Infrastructure & Pipelines: Work cross-functionally with Data and Engineering to ensure access to clean, reliable, and real-time data that fuels audience targeting, personalization, and measurement.

  • Audiences & Segmentation: Design and maintain audience logic for lifecycle campaigns, helping marketers reach the right users with the right message at the right time.

  • Platform Ownership: Own and optimize our marketing automation platforms, including configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and documentation of core systems and processes.

  • Product & Tech Coordination: Partner with team members to evaluate and implement new tools, channel capabilities, and technologies that enhance our lifecycle operations toolkit.

  • Testing & Deployment: Support the QA and deployment of lifecycle campaigns, including setting up experiments, verifying dynamic content, and maintaining process excellence across initiatives.

Competencies You'll Need:

  • 5+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing operations or marketing technology, ideally within a B2C environment

  • Hands-on experience managing automation tools like Braze, Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar platforms

  • Hands-on experience working with customer data platform (CDP) tools like Segment

  • Strong understanding of data structures, ETL pipelines, and event-based user tracking; comfort working with data and querying tools is a plus

  • Experience partnering with engineers, analysts, and marketers to translate business goals into technical solutions

  • Diligent and dedicated to quality assurance, with a focus on scalability

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and juggle multiple priorities with grace

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

  • Data-centric decision maker with a test-and-learn mentality. Outstanding analytical and critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to interpret data into practical insights and achieve business results.

  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
