Our Opportunity:
Fast-paced e-commerce company is seeking a Sr. Corporate Counsel, Insurance to join its growing legal team. The successful candidate will have at least eight years of relevant legal experience handling various insurance-related regulatory and compliance matters, and the willingness to expand into other substantive areas to support business needs. This position will be based out of our corporate headquarters in Boston, MA or Dania Beach, FL and will report to the Vice President & Associate General Counsel.
What You'll Do:
- Lead attorney supporting all insurance and risk management matters, including compliance, contracts, and licensure
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations
- Partner with the business to support strategy and objectives in a manner consistent with applicable laws and corporate risk tolerance
- Identify, analyze, and propose solutions to legal and business issues
- Responsible for preparing and submitting all regulatory filings
- Monitor legislative landscape of all insurance laws and regulatory development
- Research state insurance laws and regulations
- Draft insurance-related agreements
What You'll Need:
- Strong property and casualty insurance regulatory experience with a consistent record of providing expert advice on routine and complex insurance matters
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial insurance-related agreements
- Strong command of the details of relevant laws and regulations, and the ability to make these laws and regulations understandable and actionable for a business audience
- Experience managing insurance-related licenses
- 8+ years relevant legal experience; experience at a public technology, ecommerce, and/or retail company is a plus
- Member in good standing in Florida or Massachusetts (or eligible for in-house licensure)
- Some travel required
