About the Team:
The Industry & Solutions Marketing is focused on connecting technology to value through an understanding of our customers business.  The Industry Strategist will work as part of a growing team of industry marketers responsible for bringing Everbridge products to focused industries. The role will report directly to the VP of Industry & Solutions Marketing, and work closely with product marketing, product management, business development, and our global field marketing and sales teams as we help State and Local Government organizations understand the relevance and value of Everbridge’s Critical Event Management solutions to their organizations. 

About the Job:
Everbridge is seeking a subject matter expert in State and Local Government (SLG) to help create and execute the go-to-market strategy across the Everbridge portfolio for this segment of the market.  You will be the SLG expert within Everbridge and the voice of Everbridge to the SLG market. You must have significant experience and knowledge of the SLG segment - and the operational drivers, challenges, trends, policies, and compliance requirements that support the need for Critical Event Management solutions.  Your goal is to support our product, sales and marketing efforts to increase Everbridge’s pipeline, bookings, strategic product sales and customer size/share of wallet in State and Local Government.  

 

Job Duties:

  • Analyze relevant operational situations/trends in State and Local Government and define product fit and positioning for Everbridge’s Critical Event Management solutions.
  • Define and drive Everbridge’s Go-To-Market strategy for the State and Local Government sector.
  • Create and communicate SLG-specific buyer personas and persona-specific messaging to sales, field marketing, and partners.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the Marcom team for projects to support vertical lead generation and awareness objectives, including collateral creation, promotional campaigns, PR, events, and similar
  • Create content for internal and external audiences describing and quantifying the SLG-specific value of Everbridge’s products
  • Create and deliver SLG-specific trainings for the direct and indirect sales team.
  • Develop and refine sales tools including collateral, case studies, presentations, and ROI tools.
  • Develop industry target account profiles with a set of metrics to track adoption of Everbridge services.
  • Analyze competitive landscape and keep sales and management team apprised of key developments
  • Work closely with SLG-aligned sales management to drive sales opportunities and provide tools and training to enable target attainment in this sector.
  • Provide sales support as needed for key sales opportunities, and evangelism and thought leadership for event, AR & PR support.
  • Develop and nurture referrals and references.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience selling/marketing technology to the State and Local marketing segment, or working within State and Local government making decisions on selecting, purchasing, implementing and using technology – especially emergency management/critical event management tools. 
  • 10+ years professional experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a broad range of business audiences.
  • Excellent interviewing and research skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to gather and synthesize disparate information into a cohesive, compelling message
  • Ability to drive projects (motivated self-starter)
  • Demonstrated experience working with a cross-functional team consisting of Sales, Marketing, Technical Services and Product Management
  • A proven history of successfully defining and executing the go to market strategy for technology into the State and Local Government sector.
  • Relevant experience working in emergency management in State and Local Government
  • Experience working with physical security, cyber security and/or IT service management software solutions is desired.
