HubSpot is looking for a Contract Specialist to establish a critical commercial support role on the HubSpot Legal Team.  Reporting to our Assistant General Counsel and working with our Legal and cross-functional team, you will have a range of responsibilities including:

  • Managing the intake, review and distribution of commercial contracts and related issues, both on the procurement and sales side
  • Acting as legal lead on procurement requests and establish/manage the processes for legal engagement and contract management, including implementing a contract management solution across the organization
  • Providing first-line support to sales team members on customer contract and process matters, including advising on matters such as RFPs, RFIs, negotiation approach, and Order execution
  • Reviewing and negotiating Non-Disclosure Agreements, Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, Partnership Agreements, Subscription Agreements, and Assignment Agreements
  • Providing training and maintaining knowledge base on contracting practices and procedures
  • Working with other various business teams on a variety of legal processes, risks and opportunities as needed (the obligatory catch-all)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5+ years of relevant experience, with in-house technology company experience a plus
  • Must have experience with review of commercial contracts and feel comfortable running an independent negotiation process
  • Ability to handle a broad range of commercial contract matters and work efficiently and effectively in a crazy fast-paced, and transparent environment
  • Ability to make decisions and provide advice based on data, business needs, and the company policies and to explain the rationale for the decision to a curious and empowered team
  • Ability to develop strong relationships based on trust with team members
  • Ability to effectively handle high-volume and prioritization of tasks
  • Strong communication skills, especially via an internal wiki, Slack and Zoom (it’s how we communicate)
  • Self-starter with drive to implement improvements in internal processes
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Desire to learn quickly
  • Passionate about the values in the HubSpot Culture Code.
