Compliance Associate

To support our continued growth, while also continuing to evolve our existing global compliance framework, we, at Flywire, are seeking a dedicated and experienced compliance associate, reporting to the Compliance Manager in Boston.
This will be a varied role working within our Compliance team, with a focus on leading our U.S. compliance efforts, developing new work processes to support both the changing regulatory environment and the expansion of the business into new verticals. Experience in leading projects, quickly understanding new ideas and concepts, a background in financial compliance, knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and other regulations is required.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive the regulatory compliance aspects of our business in the U.S. and advise business on regulatory, KYC, AML, fraud prevention and other matters
- Assist in maintaining and administering global and U.S. compliance policies and train staff
- Respond to wide-variety of questions and requests from banks, partners, and clients
- Assist with management of global audits
- Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports and other regulatory filings
- Interact with regulators and industry bodies
- Work on various projects and miscellaneous issues globally and in the U.S. such as partner relations, client onboarding, product enhancements
Our ideal candidate has:
- BA/BS degree (required)
- 3-5 years of experience in financial services compliance (preferred)
- Knowledge of the U.S. payments regulatory framework and/or regulations from other regions specific to payments
- Familiarity with global KYC, UBO and AML standards (e.g., source of financial support, ultimate ownership)
- Strong computer skills; familiarity with databases is a plus
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills; global collaborator with strong communications skills
- The ability to lead by example and provide directional guidance to other FlyMates
- A strong attention to detail with an ability to execute tasks within a small and flexible team
- The ability to organize workloads to meet deadlines and manage competing and sometimes changing priorities
- A proven track record of execution and delivery of tasks through to completion
