About the Role:
The Associate General Counsel will join a growing team to address Aura's explosive growth. This is a fast-paced, relaxed, yet professional team and this person will have an opportunity to provide legal support for the marketing and product business.
Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and advise clients on terms of service for various Aura Products and related user communications (emails etc.)
  • Provide legal review of Aura's marketing content for internal and external audiences, and partner with Aura's marketing team to design and implement scalable processes for legal review of marketing content across all channels -- website, social media, press releases, product announcements, events, sales collateral and more
  • Advise the marketing team in legal and regulatory issues for advertising and promotional initiatives, including giveaways, promotions etc.
  • Support and coach marketing team in drafting, negotiating and review of commercial agreements for strategic partnerships and agreements entered into with third party vendors that support Aura's marketing strategy
  • Assist in overall global compliance efforts, monitoring controls and documenting operational evidence where needed (including compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable privacy
  • regulations).
  • Help in providing ongoing support for compliance queries from internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with the management of our customer service compliance program.


Qualifications

  • JD (or foreign equivalent) and bar admission to practice
  • 4-6+ years of professional experience
  • In-house experience supporting product, marketing and/or compliance teams
  • Practical experience and solid knowledge of product counselling, marketing review and FTC regulations
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate effectively and gain trust and confidence with personnel at many different levels
  • Ability to work as a team member of the legal department in a scalable, autonomous and accountable manner
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with both internal departments and external business clients while addressing complex issues in an accurate, clear, and thorough manner
