Job Description Summary

Our mission is to advance product innovation with metal 3D printing. Current metal 3D printers are outof reach for most engineers and designers. They are industrial, cost-prohibitive, and can be dangerous.
We are making an affordable, office-friendly system so that every design and engineering team has the
ability to 3D print with metal.
Desktop Metal is located 30min outside of Boston. We've raised over $200 million from investors that
include Google, BMW, NEA, KPCB and GE, and have put together a talented team of engineers, materials scientists, and startup veterans. Join us as we change the way products are designed and produced with metal.

The Legal Counsel will assist the Company in negotiating and drafting commercial contracts (including
collaboration, supply, license, development, consulting, and OEM agreements). He/She will also assist
with compliance matters and provide advice, as well as training, on range of matters, including
commercial contracts, government contracts, laws, marketing and promotions. He/She will also
periodically assist with legal matters or special projects.
The successful candidate should be able to assess legal risks pragmatically, and work confidently with
management in a variety of business functions.

Responsibilities

  • Providing ongoing advice and support related to a wide variety of commercial contracts, including the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts
  • Review, develop, implement, communicate, enforce and monitor contract review compliance, as well as other processes, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct legal research, as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor from accredited university
  • 5+ years of direct experience with commercial contracts and business law background, working in a law firm, in-house legal department, or preferably a combination of both.
  • Member in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar
  • Ability to communicate issues to business teams, raise salient issues, propose various strategies to limit risk and help business teams comply with terms and evaluate terms from a legal and risk perspective and by providing guidance and practical solutions
  • Ability to anticipate, and drive solutions for a range of legal and business issues.
  • Ability to adapt in a quick paced environment
  • Strong project and process management capabilities
  • Strong work ethic with the initiative to work independently
