The Lead Salesforce Engineer role will act as a senior technical resource for the Salesforce development team at Definitive Healthcare. This is a hands-on role, where the ideal candidate can split time between IC development work and guiding the development team in delivering high quality artifacts based on product and sprint goals, as identified by the product team and Salesforce architect in standard Agile ceremonies such as grooming and sprint planning.
The Lead Salesforce Engineer will work with the product team, the architect, and the development team to ensure that development tasks are in alignment with the product roadmap and ensure that development cadence is in alignment with the agreed product/feature roadmap.
In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to act as first-line technical responder to questions forwarded by the Customer Success and Value Delivery teams regarding routine Salesforce questions, and technical questions regarding the Definitive Salesforce products.
Responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Leads and participates in technical discussions and code reviews with the development team, and provides actionable feedback on code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Collaborate with architects, business partners, and the product team
- Develops secure high-quality production code using key Salesforce core programing languages (Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOSL, SOQL, Visualforce)
- Use Salesforce APIs to integrate Salesforce with other tools and third-party applications
- Acts as first-line technical resource to respond to support questions from Customer Success and Value Delivery teams
- Maintains and optimizes CICD process for application development and delivery
Requirements
- 7+ years as a Salesforce Developer
- 2+ years' experience in a Senior / Lead capacity
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Mastery of Salesforce development tools including APEX coding, Lightning Framework/Web Components, API's and Salesforce Data Model.
- Strong understanding of declarative automation features within the platform
- Robust experience and understanding of Salesforce APIs, integration patterns, and hands-on knowledge on writing custom web services
- Solid understanding of Salesforce coding best practices, design patterns and enterprise patterns
- In-depth knowledge of Apex with a strong experience with Apex Classes, Controllers, and Triggers
- Experience with repository-based development processes and tools such as Git, scratch orgs and SFDX CLI
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional business environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with development outside of the Salesforce ecosystem
- ISV managed package development experience
- Salesforce CRM Analytics development experience; template development a plus
- Hands-on Data Cloud experience
- Experience working with distributed teams
- Health Cloud development experience
- Experience with Salesforce Code Builder environment
