The Visible Grain team is a group of data scientists, designers, and technologists with deep roots in the commercial org. We are a part of GeoInnovation, the geospatial data powerhouse of Indigo. We execute on the core Indigo mission by partnering with large enterprise grain buyers to provide premiums and best-in-class grain pricing, enabling our farmers to profit from sustainable growing practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of a web-experience that brings our enterprise customers such as Anheuser-Busch a gorgeous and transparent window into the journey and story of grain from our farmers.
  • Collaborate across The Visible Grain and core Design Group at Indigo to develop innovative design experiments and concepts for the product.
  • Work within the team to understand the specific strengths of each premium feature, its differentiating qualities, and its unique place in the Indigo ecosystem.
  • Lean heavily on your illustration, copywriting and graphic design skills to develop original concepts and execute on them.

Competencies: 

  • Strong conceptual thinker. Able to grasp context from team discussions and come up with surprising and cool concepts to push forward. 
  • Strong teamwork skills — the ability to work with Data Scientists, Art Directors, Designers and Engineers as well as the confidence and skill to communicate your ideas clearly.

Qualifications:

  • A solid understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation. 
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program for fine arts, graphic design or related fields.
  • Familiar with industry-standard tools for design and illustration. Figma, Photoshop and Illustrator are tools in your belt. At Indigo, we use Figma extensively.

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
